Let's show a bit of grace to Brighton

7 points clear of 2nd place with 3 games remaining. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Never mind though they have done well this season and they are going to be playing Premier League football for the first time ever.

Serves them right for jumping the gun. Same as Barnsley fans giving it the biggun when Brighton scored. Never seen a team filter out that quick

I think the only person that'll be pissed off is the scarf salesman, though they could have a decent novelty value, like the Chrystal Palace top.

 

Honestly expect to see them being worn by some Newcastle fans next season.

I thought after Cardiff game it might well happen, but after Brighton scored and Villa went down to ten I didn't even bother checking the result until half an hour after the match ended. What a numpty I am.

 

Villa may have done us a favour but I bet they were still the ****s they are and were rubbing Brighton's nose in it.

 

We're hardly nicking it off Brighton, we've been top for 80% of the season and we just ballsed up at the end and they nipped in, and then we did the same thing to them.

Interestingly with 6 games to go we were 1 point ahead, then we took 1 point from 3 while they won all 3 of theirs. In a nice bit of symmetry they then took 1 point from their next 3 while we won all of ours to take things back to where they were.

Will always have respect for CH and the Brighton fans seem a decent bunch, the Champions scarf seller was a one off ****.

 

Looking at that pic I think it might have just been Albert with one of his insurance investments.

I can see it both ways. We led for a long way, although they'd always been in striking distance.

However since mid April (business end) they'd led all the way to the finish. Then to be 7 points clear with 3 games to go, it looked decisive.

We've nicked nothing though. The season is 46 games long and you finish where you deserve to. Only a moron would think otherwise.

 

We beat Brighton twice - Convincingly to be fair. The season is 46 games long and over 46 games we finished top. That says that we deserve it.
In terms of Brighton - Classy club, classy manager and classy fans. A couple of their players though are complete tossers for calling us 'bottlers.'

 

Who accused us of bottling it? I know Stockdale had a go after Wagner tried to apply pressure to them (which was fair enough) - but that was directed at Huddersfield. I didn't know any of them had accused us of bottling it??
