http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/11/0...ill-not-sign-players-for-leeds-united-with-e/ Saw this and thought, this is where we've been going wrong for a long time. So how do we rate our manager as of 03/11/16? Marks out of 10, in no particular order, and feel free to add categories good or bad: Capability Shrewdness Intelligence Man-management Diplomacy Backbone Media-savvy Vision Leeds loyalty Ruthlessness Go buck mad lads!
Definitely a bit early, tougher games to come and 31 games to play, plus cup games. We had similar thoughts on Evans, Redfearn, McD and Grayson, and we're still in championship. I'll be realistic and wait to see what happens down track.......
I agree. Let's wait two seasons, by which time he'll have moved on, then we can rate him properly Personally think he's done a fine job to date and his media interviews are all well worth a listen. Like that idea of no players wanted with big egos
capability 7 shrewdness 6 intelligence 7 man management 9 diplomacy 5 backbone 8 media savy 7 vision 7 leeds loyalty started at 6 but growing to 8 now ruthlessness 10
yes well thats what we want the players doing the business , im sure monk will be doing some of the training as he said he is working on improving their defending and tactics , but sometimes his substituting is questionable but i have got to say this is the best i have felt about leeds play and defence for a longtime , we really need to beat newcastle for teams to start taking notice especially with the liverpool game coming up soon
Think its a team effort Shaks, Monk, backroom team and players all seem to be singing from same team sheet
yes compared to last year , last year its like chalk and cheese cannot believe people wanted evans to stay on
Likely because Evans was near enough the best wed had in years and I dont think many of us believed his successor would be of the calibre of Monk
but i still stick by that if we had not won against blackburn i think monk would have been sacked it was that close
The late Wood equaliser against Fulham was a season defining moment in my opinion. Its been all good since
yes we won 2 games on the trot after that but then lost to forest and huddersfield so if we had lost to blackburn who was bottom monk would have walked but glad he did not now
I have to agree far too early to tell. I don't believe he is as great as some believe, he is work in progress and improving and as long as he continues to improve I'm happy. Got off to a bad start, said the wrong things, looked nervous in interviews but has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of months. Man Management, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, Leeds Loyalty, we have no idea on that one Same here, I think it is a combination of everything, we have all the right ingredients at the moment Because how many people was Evans allowed to bring in? How many players and what backing was Monk given? You can only coach what you have to work with, Monk has a far better selection of players than Evans was permitted
What a turn around though. Monk was one game away from the sack(apparently) still don't rate Grimes, but that's really the only negative I can find.
IMO I think its partly the Jansson factor, his enthusiasm and sheer determination on the pitch, seems to have rubbed off on the supporters and team mates..
