In previous seasons, any "what if" games ended went something like this:

if we beat xxxxx then we wont be in a relegation battle
if we beat xxxxx then we might finish middle table (13th or up)

This season we get to play a more interesting version

what if we beat chelsea?

What if Spurs drop points to Fulham?

What if Chelsea drop points against liverpool?

If we beat Chelsea and Spurs drop points against Fulham we will be in 5th place, one point behind Chelsea....
If we beat Chelsea and Spurs drop points against Fulham we will be in contention for 4th spot....

who likes this seasons version of What If better?

So true, Dan. I am doing it all the time now.

TBH, up until Monday night I saw Chelsea as the weak link in the ladder. Tue night will tell us a lot about our prospects.

It's just a bit of fun but what a change, eh?

A few months ago, my mate from spain was laughing when he said Sunderland will play Barca in the champions league next season. He isnt laughing when he says it now (though he still thinks it will be the Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs/ManC at the end of the season he admits we are contenders now)

Its nice to be taken seriously by fans of the top European clubs...!
