Well we have been saved from the drop, let's hope DM will be able to get some cracking players in during the close season.

I just hope we are at the other end of the table next season, not the bottom end.

Time will tell, but the majority of his loans have done us proud.
Onwards and upwards come to mind.

I don't know any candidates but we need a Gerry Gow type aggressive and Tinnion-esque skill and ball distribution to compliment Skusssssssse in the midfield, plus the rest.....

2 commanding cb so bikey and mcmanus
a rb if ribs isnt gonna keep fit
2 lbs still hoping to keep mcgivern
1 rw to cause compitition for albert
depending on what skuse we have hopefully this new 1 that we have go with just needing 1 cm who can pass and tackle and score or if old skuse 2 of em
a young striker in the stead mould and a replace for nicky

I don't think Gow, great hero of mine that he is, would stay on the pitch very long in this day and age.
In Marv, Skuuuuse and Cisse (if he stays) we have more than enough ball winners imho.

What we need is a bit of creativity and a goal scoring threat from CM.
I don't see Killa being the answer at all and would prefer to see Pearson on left side if he stays.
So for me we need to prioritise:

LB (or RB if Del sees Foster as the long term LB and doesn't rate Ribs)
CB (Bikey would be ideal based on what we've seen)
2 x CM (creativity and ability to push up into the box to get goals a must)
ST (with pace and a goal scoring pedigree)
GK (if James doesn't stay on much reduced wages as cover, not necessary if he does)

I think that 5-6 new faces would be enough to get into mid-table, reduce the squad
(from previous posts most people agree that 10-12 players could go) and make use of
loans if the injury jinx strikes again.

We have to limit the number we bring in so we can get real quality. This policy
of bringing in shed-loads of plays in the £100-250k price range just hasn't worked
and we need a different approach I feel as otherwise we will carry on just throwing
    money away.

'i think really not much needs changing'

The table doesn't lie at the end of April and McInnes was almost strident in in his post match interview that we need BIG changes.
He came across as genuinely shocked how difficult it was to keep City in the Championship.
I see him bringing in at least 5 new players that are good enough for the 1st 11.

I may be in the minority but I will be surprised if he signs Bikey, time will tell.
We also need a Keeper, LB, CM and Striker urgently.

We're in for an interesting Summer with McInnes's signings (as opposed to loans).
Think Foster is his only signing so far and he's definitely Championship so I'm hopeful we see an influx of quality.

I have been more than pleased how well the last 7 results have gone and take my hat off to McInnes and Docherty, I especially liked how they 'freshened' up the side over the Forest and Coventry games. Also liked the passion shown by the pair of them in recent home matches.

McInnes has presided over a fantastic escape and deserves much credit.

As they only bought Mcmanus from Celtic for £1.5m last season I would doubt we could offer enough money to temp them to sell but who knows

    Midfielders

    Adomah Bolasie Pearson
    Elliott Skuse Cisse

Nice to see one of Derek's biggest critics giving him a bit of credit, fully deserved i might say, so believe in the man a bit more, i'm sure he will take us to bigger and better things.

    The way I see it...

    --------------------------------------------------Gerken/ new GK----------------------------------------------
    Foster/ new RB--------2x new CB ----------------------------Fontaine/ Nyatanga -------------- 2xLB
    Adomah/Bolasie--------Skuse/Cisse--------------------------Pearson/New----------Woolford/New
    ---------------------------Stead/new---------------------------Pitman/new-----------------------------

With Bryan, Edwards, Wilson all hopefully involved in the first team in a more prominent role.

Shopping list: - New GK, 2xCB, RB, LB, CM, LM, 2x CF

I've had a thought that something has gone our way this season, though it initially seemed like a negative.

I'm talking about Adomah's downturn in form. This could be attributed to a number of things - niggling injuries, poor temperament, teams sussing him out but regardless of what caused it the fact is he went from our brightest spark to a negligible asset. I don't think the teams sussing him out excuse is legitimate as he often didn't even attempt the sort of runs or have the same energy we saw earlier in the season. Imagine if he had continued that form, though. This summer would have been dominated by transfer speculation over one of our top players - again.

Instead he fell out of the limelight and off the gossip rags allowing players like Bolasie to show some encouraging signs of improvement. Also this weekend he looked back to form which can only bode well for next season where he'll be integral, whatever the goal.

As for what I think we need...

    1 GK
    1 LB (at least)
    2 CB
    1 CM
    1 naturalised LW (at least)
    1 striker (at least)

Only seven, that's not too much to ask for? Right?

We also need to keep expectations realistic and none of this we'll be in the playoffs lark which I think is delusional.

I'd accept mid table next year

Here here shiny I would love bikey and McManus to sign what a pair at the heart of the defence.not to many would fancy coming up against these two.

it sounds even better that we have the likes of fontaine and nyatanga battling for 2 positions along with these 2, should make them all better in a way

As a footnote, I see Maynard has been completely left out of tonight's squad for West Ham V Leicester.

    Has everyone forgot James Wilson?

Think we might see him improve and become a good solid defender

If he could stay fit he would be the first name on the team sheet for me and a player we should be build a team round but after being out for over two years it seemed like he had turned it around to now get injured again. Its a pain that we get very talented young players like Wilson and Ribs who have the talent to play at a higher level but are cursed with being injury prone.
