Some of our recent threads are moving miles away from what should be our main focus ie tonight's match and the fact that whatever the result we will march into 2012 top of the league!

    COYR!

We will always have different views and opinions but we can always agree on at least one thing. Saints forever! Now lets all get back on the same bus and roar them home!

agreed! i have been considering leaving recently due to the lack of football being discussed, but St Godders said some wise words and here i am still working hard to make it how i want it - football related without the need of idiots weve been getting recently

Keep away from politics and religion...sound advice for a dinner party and a football internet forum.

My Bristol City supporting chums had the invitation to come and stop over for the match with the same terms as last time. ie The supporter(s) of the losing team buy the drinks in the pub after the game.

They were onto a winner compared to me. In Bristol we were in the pub all evening and I got taken taken to the cleaners. Should we win and they have to buy the drinks they would only have to do so for about an hour and they outnumber me.

Needless to say they have declined my invitation with some feeble excuse about having to work so all I am left with is the hope that our lads win handsomely and make amends for the shoking display when we went to their place.

I shall be there tonight with my flask of bovril in one hand and one of the lovely Mrs Godders mince pies in the other. She made eight trays of them and I will be eating the blessed things from now until the end of the season. I think it is her way of punishing me for spending her Christmas present money in a pub in Bristol. That was weeks ago and you would have thought she would have forgotten about it by now.

So should you be sat beside a short whiskery old fellow with a walking stick eating mince pies at our final match on the 28th April just introduce yourself and we can have a good old chat about how we are going to cope in the Premier League. I might even have a spare mince pie to offer you.

In the meantime revenge for my financial impoverishment and the lovely Mrs Godders lack of a Christmas present is expected tonight with a great win and three more points in the bag.

Rule for life: even with the new Saints, never bet large amounts of money on a dead cert.
