All Came back late from an exciting day at Lords and resisted the temptation to post until now. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised by the positivity on the forum. I have to say some of my own pre season optimism has worn off but I'm still very confident we won't be relegation candidates. I watched MOTD and the Football League show this morning and the gap between the top sides in the two leagues is immense. You just can't make mistakes like we did against top teams and not get punished. The players and us have had a reality check and they need to learn fast but I'm confident they have the character and ability to come through. Let's face it we can't do anything but go up from here! Just look at our bench yesterday. Over £20 million of attacking talent. Once these players are bedded in we will surprise a few big teams this season. It's going to be exciting and I can't wait for our first win on Saturday. Let's draw a line. Onwards and upwards. COYR!
Hope you had a excellent day at the cricket and enjoyed the atmosphere as you could hear the Hampshire support all afternoon. Great finish to a great game. As for Saints, I think Adkins summed it up when he said our season starts this Saturday.
I also noted his comment post match that Gaston had trained with the squad for the first time on Friday. If that's his performance after one session with the team, I'm very confident about the rest of the season.
