Don't know about a statue just yet Ric, but we have had another very good season under his leadership, so well done to him, his staff and the players.....and the season is not over yet, still chance to better last year's achievements both in points and finishing position.
I agree, however I have enjoyed this season very much. If we hadnt have lost Odemwingie and Bojan to injury goodness knows where we would have finished. Im looking forward to the transfer window too and I cant wait to see the 19 year old play for us who we got from Barcelona. Another amazing season under the command of Hughesy Up the mighty potters
I am well pleased with how the style of our play is developing , in the main ; the spurs game was entertaining and I don't mean because of the one-man in prison garb demonstration who wants Charles Bronson ( not the actor ) released from jail , but on the other hand I don't want to see another performance like the one against Sunderland. My man of the match was Muniesa , because he sees what is going to happen before anyone else , and is prepared for it. With the right players coming in , and we do need some new players , and if we can keep MH in charge , then next season should provide some very watchable games.
Great season. Mark Hughes is exceeding my expectations by quite some way. Three Stoke players have made team on the week with Goal; Muniesa, N'Zonzi and Diouf.
I think Hughes has more than justified the Stoke faithfuls support, back to back campaigns proves his worth and the way in which the club are trying to develop for the future. I do worry about our defensive spine for next season, with Begovic likely to be leaving and Hughes seemingly made his mind up on Huth - this is an area we need to consolidate. We have plenty of options for the midfiled (both defensive and attacking) but with Walters and Crouch seemingly nearing the end of their careers and Diouf still finding his feet, this is the time to take that leap of faith on a proven striker.
Hughes has done really well for you. He has personally "redeemed" himself after his QPR "debacle" and has helped you evolve a different style from the Tony Pulis days. Good luck for next season - and let's hope we are both battling each other around 7th or 8th position again, hopefully!
