    Guys

Last night while out in a wild storm in South Lebanon, my QPR obsessed mind started to reflect on NWs tenure at our club and also our new yellow brick road under Mark Hughes. I started to ask myself, "what will be regarded as success this season for Mark Hughes". My initial thoughts were obviously survival, but on further reflection i believe that certain other targets need to be achieved or issues addressed. Now, i know that us football fans are a fickle lot, but i think we all on this forum need to show a bit of patience and understanding over the next few months. Mark Hughes is not a magician, nor is he a miracle worker, but i think he will be judged by us the fans on him achieving most or all of the following:

    a. Playing our players in their proper position.
    b. A set formation that plays to our strengths.
    c. Attack the opposition at home. Have a "right go" at teams.
    d. Use substitutions properly and for a reason.
    e. Play with passion and energy. Give the fans the sense that our team always tries and puts in a shift.
    f. Drop players who are not playing well, regardless of who they are.
    g. Always support our players in public/in media, and slate them in private if required.
    h. Not be awestruck by the Prem/ top players/occasion.
    i. Ensure that our team can play for 95 minutes. We regularly concede late goals.

Many people reading this may think that this is an extensive list, but IMHO i feel that this is only the basics. The problem under NW for the last few months was not just the results. The performances were awful. Top players were under performing and not being dropped, some players were criticized in public and others untouchable. The team looked disjointed and played without passion, energy, cohesiveness, and dare i say it without a plan.
I think our fans could except defeat to a better team if we showed up and at least gave it a go. If your perform to a certain high standard regardless of the opposition, results will come.
I ask all fans here to spare the over reaction when results are disappointing. Look at the bigger picture, do we look stronger, fitter, sharper and do we play to a system that utilizes our strengths. Thoughts!!!!

All of the above led to the change in management imo.
But for me, THIS is what matters first ->
If this is achieved the rest will follow.

    Good post by the way.

This is indeed a list to describe why NW had to go imo.

C worries me a little. I'm sure a lot of people will be calling for 4-4-2 at home, but I would remind everyone that this is rarely played these days, with most coaches preferring a much more fluid formation that stops teams being outnumbered in midfield. Also, it's hard to see where Taarabt fits into a 4-4-2. However, whatever formation we play, there's nothing to stop us having a right go at teams at home!!

We are a small club who are finally building solid foundations and dragging ourselves into the 21st century. Rome was not built in a day. Is your own forum that sh**e that you have to come onto ours. Really sad that you have no pals on your own site to annoy. Piss off.

The real ManU have also to be realistic about their chances to win title again ,because ManC and Spurs are lookin so strong. So why dont we if the relegation is considered......

Col, i really don't care what formation Hughes goes with as long as he plays a formation that suits what we have and also puts players in their best positions. We have the worst home record in the division. With the intimidating atmosphere at LR we should be very difficult to beat there. We need to start playing as a team. Players need to show that they have fire in their belly. The fans will react to this.

Nuts..I totally agree. I think players and management alike knew what was on the cards at the beginning of December. It's the only thing I can think of to explain the performances and body language recently. It is the same team that got us to 9th mid November so where did the recent performances come from. I can live with some of the teams sussing us out but there was no passion all of a sudden, did they know what was going to happen? Don't get me wrong I am not knocking NW just asking what went wrong.

Good Post - I think the failure to perform a) & b) were the biggest frustrations I had with NW closely followed by d) & f). He bemoaned SWP's pass at Arsenal as one of the bits of bad luck he endured but WTF was he doing in central midfield anyway!! Under MH i think we'll see a rapid improvement in fitness as he is aware of what it takes to punch above your weight in this division when you can't compete toe to toe on skill levels with the top sides. I have posted on a number of other discussions about the lack of a plan / cohesion etc and I believe it was this lack of a sense of where we were going (other than down) that ultimately led to the timing and nature of the decision which was frankly the only option available to TF

    Good post
For all the NW lovers let's thank him but I go on record as saying he lost the plot The points made here are bang on Nuts ... I could never sing warlocks blue and white army as at times this season it seemed as if he was making it up as he went along
Last season different story as we were full of team spirit and on auto pilot

This season has been crazy IMO as he has scored some stupid own goals plus I have to say been exposed a lot

He had to go IMO and I am very pleased as Hughes is a winner whereas NW if truth be told always had a doubt whether he knew that much about modern football ...

The Peter Kay of football ... Always talking about funny English things from the past ... Funny for 20 seconds but when seriously asked the questions .... he had no other material

He got us out the toughest league there is and that's how I remember him... He will do it again no doubt if he takes a club

In short I can't see Hughes saying
" Well I bunged on Rob Hulse for the last ten cuz the lad's cat died last week ... Terrible terrible news and I felt he deserved it " as NW may of
" Me wife Sharon liked the way that Hulse presented himself at afternoon tea ... His shoelaces were neat and smart ... She should know she's the boss... I' m only allowed slip ons ! On my salary...

Why dress up a thread as looking forwards when its really just another go at Warnock?
If we repeat the mantras enough times do they become true?

Take i. Number of times we have conceded a goal in the last 5 minutes this year = one! Number of times we have scored in the last 5 minutes = three! Hardly the record of a team that has stopped playing.

Let's leave Warnock alone and look to the future with MH.
I hope you've all sent NW an email thanking him for what he has achieved?
