I just found this on the BBC sport website and made me laugh. Portsmouth's pre-season game against Real Betis on Saturday has been cancelled. Pompey's first-team squad were forced to extend their stay in America after a catering truck collided with their aeroplane, forcing the flight to be cancelled.
im sure the real reason was they needed to fill the easyjet plane with last minute sales of seats because the pompey squad only took up two rows.
I think it's a cover-up, the real reason is because Real Betis realised how much of a s**t-hole Fratton is and so they called it off last minute - 'we're not going there for the sake of a friendly' they said Actually, it was probably Real Betis manager, Pepe Mel that was driving the catering truck...
This is the before image. please log in to view this image I understand the "plane" was a right-off but there was at least plenty of room for all of the first team in their new spiffy kit...
no its pompey playing havant this story did make me laugh earlier, love seeing the skates be depressed
Glad you all find it so funny - this is actually a serious issue, this accident could have resulted in a loss of a number of cup cakes.
Nice to see Cottrill leading from the front with the old rolled up socks down the gussett routine going on
It did say on Sky Sports that Havant & Waterlooville were stepping in to play Betis; bit unfair that if Betis were expecting a gentile friendly only to suddenly having to play a team of far superior ability than the original opponents.
Real Betis will have to increase their training now the have a game on. Proof, if we needed that skates can't fly,
The spaniards will enjoy the experience taking the beautiful game into a less fortunate area of the world .They will be able to see different culture first hand where the tourists grasp of english is superior to that of the local community
I don't usually bother with this sort of thing, but the next two comments I read, after yours shiny head, were as follows. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/70284-Why-all-the-Saints-amniosity Care to elaborate?!
