OK, you don't have to join me, but I'm seriously worried. So we lost a game that others thought we should have drawn or won. This is the price of supporting Saints, I know that. I shall not be joining in the "Puel out" cries that emanate from another place. But I have endured a sleepless night. There seems to be a lack of news on the one topic that matters. WHAT'S HAPPENED TO MANOLO? Aside comments about an injury are enough to see me in A&E. Come on, someone who is in the ITK, put me out of my misery. EDIT: All those who voted for him as player of the month shall be named and shamed!
How is your shoulder, Austin? Only hurting a bit. Good, could you manage to score in between the twinges?
All I can say is embrace the two week football wilderness & any saints who want to pull out of the internationals, that's fine by me.
2-4 weeks I'd imagine. But if it was more serious, then upwards of 2 months in terms of getting into first team action again.
Targett, Pied and VVD walked off the pitch never to be seen again. Always difficult to judge until the medical team have had a root around and recovery time isn't set in concrete. Still let's be cheerful
If it is a groin injury that is usually 4-6 weeks...a pulled muscle 2-3 weeks. Knowing our luck with new arrivals he is likely to be out till the end of the season....its been a bad year for injuries........still we can only hope I guess...........
Well thanks, boys and girls. Just keep me away from sharp objects. You complete set of gits. You could have lied to me.
Bad news on the Injury front M Gabbiadini Groin Strain No Return Date http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/15167119.Saints_hopeful_on_Gabbiadini_injury/?ref=mac Virgil van Dijk Ankle Injury April 29, 2017 Charlie Austin Shoulder Injury April 8, 2017 Alex McCarthy Hamstring Injury No Return Date Matt Targett Hamstring Injury April 15, 2017 Jeremy Pied ACL Knee Injury June 1st 2017
Never a good time to get injured, but just before an international break does make this slightly better. We don't play now for 2 weeks anyway so he won't (fingers crossed) miss that many games for us.
Just as a matter of interest, which was the game we lost that everyone thought we should have drawn or won? Surely not Spurs who are second in the table and undefeated at home all season...
Look away those with Saints-induced depression issues....Just a reminder, Virgil said after coming off, 'It's nothing much.'
Redmond and long have lots of time to work on the training ground, 2 speed merchants to shred the b'mouth defence.
In fairness I haven't seen one person who has said we should be winning or getting a point away at spurs.
I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd got something at WHL....we are capable, but I didn't expect anything. Spurs are on form and better than they were last season. I was pleased we got a goal and made a game of it. It's a shame to give up in March, but my mind has already started to move on. Just want a strong finish to this season as a sign of promise for next season.
Thought I was being described as an OAP for a minute there. Accurate, but I hate the term. Anyway, you are referring to the fact that I said some seem to think we might have won or drawn against Spurs. This was not based on pre-match guesses but as the game panned out. We were good in the second half. I didn't feel we were good enough to break down a very solid looking Spurs, but some of their fans said afterwards on the tube that they thought they'd "got away with it". I was merely saying that coming away from a game thinking we'd been a little unlucky to lose is the lot of being a Saints fan. This hadn't upset me at all, but that the injury to Manolo did. He's an absolute box of tricks. He reminds me of Suarez without the attitude. Very clever, and with tremendous speed of thought and anticipation. So losing him is a massive blow. I don't think that's a disputed point!
Fair enough. I see where you're coming from. Personally I just enjoyed the game of football irrespective of the result. As for Manola, I guess we'll have to wait and see. He is indeed a big factor in our upturn of form but the effect he has had on our other forward thinking players should carry on regardless of his presence on the pitch. He has given them self belief. Hopefully he will only miss the Bournemouth game.
