That come August we have managed to hang onto Gyan. Who will be lining up along side him? Signed: Mohammady has signed Ji Dong-Won looks in the bag Gibson Some good vibes about Larsson and Vaughan so I'll count them in. Ones to ponder: 50/50 Gardiner Brown O shea N'Gog Potential targets: unconfirmed DJ Campbell Whickham Marquee signings: maybe Crouch Pavyluchenko N'Zogbia Rodallega The make up of our actual team has so many ponderables currently, it must have the manangement totally baffled as we are, as to who make up the team and squad for the 2011/12 season. This is why the papers are printing any old ****e, because they dont know either. We must be vigilant about not taking too much what the papers say about buys or sales. Truth is its all up in the air and its the same for 14 or 15 other clubs in the EPL.
Cest, dont believe any of your last ones will be on our books next season, DJ, a possable, Whickham no chance, Kennys boy. Brown hope not, as for the rest, in the lap of the gods. By the way , do you think we have scouts? cos if we do, they are ****in awful, and our Bucies forward planning is woeful.
I wouwldnt like to say who will or wont be here Bill. I really think its nip and tuck for Crouch, NZogbia and Whickham (Liverpool dont have unlimited funds mate and will he go there just to be a reserve player?). As for the scouts, they have unearthed Muhammady, Sessegnon, Gyan and Ji Dong Won so far. Some good, some indifferent and some we just dont know about. I like the players SB has highlighted as big signings though in N'Zogbia, Crouch, O Shea and maybe Rodallega. Others like N'Gog and the home boy Brown are less than impressive. PS - who is our chief scout again? Ricky Sbragia? If you employ amateurs you get what you deserve?
I think he would be a good addition mate. Not spectacular but injury free and a bloody good grafter. A good replacement for JH in the centre of midfield and a 'good engine' as they say these days and even more of a bargain given he is on a free.
He did I think but it is still his influence that dominates our scouting for the last 2 seasons? We need to appoint a seasoned veteran as chief scout and SB must have some contacts. Id like to see someone appointed for overseas and one for domestic scouting.
Well that was another blunder by Quinn, kept us up, said he had a job for life, give him the head scouting job, new manager comes in, cant do anything about that position, so like you say hopefully now if it isnt pop robson, we get someone good.
Mohammady Ji Dong-Won Gibson Larsson Vaughan Gardner Brown O shea N'Gog Potential targets: unconfirmed DJ Campbell Whickham Would be happy with all of the above i wouldnt mind Hutton & Warnock been added as well I think Vaughan will go to WBA & Whickham will go to Liverpool as for the Marquee signings i cant see us getting Crouch or Pav but we could get Rod & N`zog if we pull our ****ing finger out & make the move now before someone else does.
Im still worried about Gibson. My Dad is a Wolves fan, hence my interest in them, and he recalls Gibson's loan with them in the Championship as being "A waste of time". He agrees with the sentiment he shoots but does little else, and was glad to see the back of him.
I still think we will have a suprise or two! King Dong was under the radar and I fully expect some other business to be done on the quiet to stop us getting gazumped. We have done it in the past on a few deals that have concluded quickly. Id like is to look at the likes of Doyle, Dempsy or Zamora up top. Maybe even the lad that went on loan to Everton (Donovan).
Id like is to look at the likes of Doyle, Dempsy or Zamora up top. Maybe even the lad that went on loan to Everton (Donovan). KenBruce, Donovan is on fire at the moment, top scorer in MLS, but is being supplied of Beckham...
Beckham? Never heard of him! We should get him as part of the deal.... No bother in attracting him. There's a two bedroomed end of terrace on Hylton Road he could move into.
Marquee signing I would like to see would be Berbatov, I think he his the only one plying his trade in the prem, that could be a perfect replacement for Bent. But obviously never going to happen with transfer fee and wage demands. As our management have said in the past that they need a replacement similar to Bent. Not a marquee signing and I know I will be shot down in flames, but Freddie Kanoute I think could still do the business despite his age.
Got a nasty feeling we'll be looking at the same team that finished the season more or less with possibly one new face, as the powers that be like the big deadline day signings don't hold your breath lads. As for the Gyan thing I'll take that with a pinch of salt but, SNQ coming out and saying there's nothing in it has got me worried sounds like the old dreaded vote of confidence.
Slightly off tack, but I don't know how other fans go on.... Are we the only ones whipped into a frenzy at this time of the year? We are always in the speculation for this buy or that sell. For instance, dont see much hype over Stoke, Blackburn, West Brom, etc. Just us and the toon! Is it just up here we want everything done and dusted in the first couple of weeks of the close season?
its took awhile but i believe our squad is getting better a few more signings this transfer window and just as important get rid of dead wood ie; mccartney, killgallon, ferdinand and maybe a couple of players i like steed and flash both big earners whitch will get the wage bill down allowing us to improve side even more ,at the moment my concern is at centre half wher e we are not well covered and forwards where we are desperatley short of fire power dong-won looks nailed on,ngog will be agood signing but lacks expierience ,dj cambell will provide good cover but i would like us to sign a proven target man as a partner for gyan, the bosmans if the press are to be believed of larson, westwood will be good signings, also brown oshea and gibson will provide a relativly young squad with much needed expierience.
