Let Our Football Do The Talking

To go and beat your old gaffer´s new team
Is high on a player´s wish list,
And tomorrow is no exception to the theme
A game that ought not to be missed

And although he left under much of a cloud
And showed himself in a poor light,
He did play a part in making us proud
On our return to the top flight

None of us here know the true ins and outs
Of the impending legal case,
And sad as it is for all us hereabouts
Everything has its own time and place

And tomorrow it should be football that shows
Just whether he was right or wrong,
To leave us all here, in uncertain throes
To go and join that Midland throng

I must admit I´d be happy to see
Both him and Cully have success,
But not at our expense, and particularly
Not tomorrow, at their home address

But it´s fair to say that without their imput
We wouldn´t be sitting up here,
And heroes become villains quickly here, but
Theirs was quite a special three years

So victory there would be sweeter than most
Although it´s still just one more game,
There´s no doubt that having P. Lambert as host
Just doesn´t let things feel the same

But I´m sure that Hughton will know how we feel
And also know just what to say,
When he sends our lads out with hopes to reveal
That our football will talk on the day

And don´t forget, should it go as we´d like
With one more triumph on the spin,
We´ll have, while rejoicing Saturday night
One more hour to savour it in. OTBC

 

And another reason for us all to say,
That we need to win at the Villa,
Tomorrow is Gorlestongirl's birthday,
And a loss would be a killa.

 

Well my dear, then I´ll hope for the very best
When watching on my old tv,
An October twenty-seven win would suggest
In twenty-seventh heaven we´ll be.

What can I say RBF - you've 'nailed it' yet agaain!!! Yes I'd love to see us come away with 3 points, as I was there last season and but for a sloppy back pass, we could at least havev come away with a point. Also, Gabby was 'on fire' - I'm not sure Bennett and Martin will give him the same freedom tomorrow.
