Certainly a much better feeling after last seasons start but we cant get carried away, it isnt our best start Previous seasons after 9 games 2012 - 2013 - 23rd with 7 points 2011 - 2012 - 12th with 13 Points 2010 - 2011 - 7th with 15 Points 2009 - 2010 - 23rd with 4 Points 2008 - 2009 - 11th with 12 Points 1999-2000 - 4th with 17 points. Shows we really cant make any conclusions fast-forwarding to 15 Games (for our good starts) 1999 -2000 - 5th with 26 points (+ 9) 08-09 8th with 21 (+ 9) 10 -11 6th with 24 (+ 9) (Last time we were above Norwich in the table) 11 - 12 14th with 20 (+ 7) So, evidently we need to be looking at getting 9 points as a minimum from the next 6 games to maintain the good start Achievable?
I think the league is much closer now than all of those seasons though. Which is why I think we've actually got a chance to get in the playoffs even if we're mid table all season I can't imagine it'll be many points off the playoffs
But if we're mid table all season, then we must have no chance of being in the playoffs, because to finish in the playoff positions we (or any team, for that matter) have to do better than mid table.??
Yep, great result yesterday and if we can maintain top 10 all season I'll be happy. Also we've won 4 out of 5 home games this season and the last 3 in a row... Time for fortress Portman Road?
considering we have already got potentially 3 of the hardest games of the season out of the way too (all 3 relegated teams away) I think we are in a fantastic position! I'd be more than happy with a top 10 finish this season and build on it next year, anything more is a bonus
Great little run at the moment, must pick up more points away and the next two games will show us if we are at least play off contenders. Should really be two more wins!!!
Certainly achievable mike. Optimism is high. There seems to be a feel good factor around. IMO the championship is the best,closest,hardest league to get out of. Us being prime example. But lets head top ten this season. Keep hold of mick and our other talented players. And who knows next season we could be putting in a real challenge. As wright said we've got 3 of the toughest games out the way already and ciderman yes away form needs sorting and we're on the up.
