A despicable thread to have a Sporting Great like Lester, even remotely mentioned with the Clowns. He'd still beat them on his own...
In my defence, he is being compared to the league leaders and not our clowns!! Wasn't he known for taking the outsiders to victory??
Once Lester was on board they weren't outsiders for long. Odds used to tumble quick enough. Won my fair share on the old boy...
Lychester 3-0 Newcastle They ripped us apart at St James', so away we have no chance I'm afraid. I'll be more interested in the starting 11 to be honest.
I think Stevie Mac will be buoyed by the vote of confidence the board (of which he is 25%) gave him and this will be the team that is given the thrashing that has been on the cards for some weeks now. 0-4 to the lads.
I am not happy with this match thread - it looks like it has been done specifically to get laughs and doesn't respect our club and board traditions. I don't like to see the proud name of our club ridiculed in this way. However it is still a lot better than Albert's efforts. I think this game may be the turning point. I think Leicester will be expecting an easy win but will be weighed down by their current 5 point lead and the potential historical implications of winning the Premier League against the odds and achieving their first ever top flight league win. Ashley will have roused the players midweek with a Churchill-style speech: “Even though we have lost touch with most of the Premier League and are now below the odious apparatus of big Sam's rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight on the pitch, we shall fight on the terraces and in the car park, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air (by lumping high balls up to Perez), we shall defend our goal (just not very well), whatever the cost may be, we shall punch horses when necessary, we shall never surrender.” The players will be so roused by this speech (or at least by the written translation in French, Slav, Dutch, Welsh and Scouse), together with the million pound bonus he offers each of them if we stay up, that we will grind out a dull 0-0 draw.
I'm torn. It would be nice to get a point against Leicester but I think it would be great if they won the League. It would give every team a lift. If they can do it then so can we! We are finished so I want a Leicester win..
... seriously lads ... a request from the heart ... please don't go replacing Brollyman until a week tomorrow at the earliest
Honestly, we are one of the most hated clubs in the country, the media slate us at every opportunity, other fans think we chase our managers and we expect too much. the general consesus is that us Geordies all think we are bigger than what we are! So on that basis, we will beat Leicester, damage their title chances and every neutral and fan who want to see the foxes win the league, will just end up hating us that little bit more 0-1 - Mitrovic Penalty in the 63rd minute under a new gaffer!
.. having watched you defending you'll do very well to keep a clean sheet ... also not sure that Mitrovic will even turn up if he sees Huth's name on our team sheet ... what I will say is that it is often far tougher playing teams fighting for their lives to those competing for the top ... so I (and most Leicester fans) are well aware that it is not inconceivable that you will get something from Monday's game ...
... good to see you still have a sense of humour ... expect us to strengthen in the summer, irrespective of where we finish ... ... just out of interest, were you at our game at yours earlier this season?
