Drogba and Anelka have been released by Shanghai Senshua due to the chairman pulling out for the Chinese Government being ars*holes NOW I admit fully that these are WAY above our heads, however they have more than enough money and the chances are they just want to play football, due to being on free transfers they would be able to sign up until the point of October... Now my question is, should we go for one of them?
I'd take either in a heartbeat. Drogba seems beyond realistic, but Anelka? Why not. Some are suggesting Owen's worth a stab if the deals right, well if there's a 1% chance of that being the case, then either of these would be fantastic.
Anelka as an attacking midfielder. Ripped us apart a couple of seasons ago up here, night match i think. Get him on a pay as you play deal. Check him out and give a 1 year contract if he proves worthwhile.
I'd be comfortable giving him a deal right now mate, he's a class player, always has been. Still feel he's worth way more than a pay-per-play.
Anelka destroyed us a couple of years ago operating in that attacking midfield role and its something we do lack. Would give Sess a kick up the arse as well. I'd take either but would prefer Anelka if only one. Drogba brings a host of issues imo.
What a choice, we all know we would be better with one or both, cant see why we cant try the same deal as Saha, god loves a tryer, and we could do a lot worse.
