I like Roger Whittakers voice....real clarity. I like country and western as well...though rarely listen to music now.
His voice is good no denying that , and his whistling . Its what he sings i can't stand . but as with food , music taste is very personal
I never give money, but quite regularly if I see a homeless person and I am on my way shopping, buy a sandwich a hot drink and a large bottle of water for them on the way out.
Don’t even start me on BI sellers , some just take the piss . I do give to the genuine ones , I think you can tell who they are . But that homeless bit has really got me going .
Mmm food/music analogy.... yeah I can go with that. I’m sure I could have a nibble at Kylie if pushed
I remember being accosted by a “homeless” person in New York back in around 2000. I went into a shop and bought him a sandwich and a bottle of drink and he got pissed off with me because he wanted money! Since then, I don’t bother. My money goes straight to charities (though I will give to buskers, if they’re decent musicians, cos I admire them!)
I used to , but after this not anymore . Shame , as there was one chap ex military who seemed genuine , but where he used to be , 2 others have moved in .
I once asked a homeless chap if he was hungry, and if he'd like a mcdonalds since he was sat outside a shop nextdoor to a mcdonalds. He said yes, so I went in and bought a burger meal. Came out 5 minutes later and he had gone. I hung around for 5 minutes, but he didn't come back so i went home and ate the mcdonalds. Very strange.
He probably thought you were going to give him the money. I have read before about people who pretend they are homeless for a living when they have homes. Someone bought one a drink and food only to see them throw it away. How clean, well fed are some of them? As has been said it's best to give to the charities if you really want to help the genuine homeless.
There are loads of "homeless" people around here. Some are blatantly not. One who goes along asking for money from anyone sat outside this row of bars in the centre has a new pair of trainers worth about £120. Literally just does a loop across about 15 bars. Was out for a few a little while ago and he asked me for money at least 5 times ffs
Yeah for sure. I just get sucked into the emotion of it when I see them on the street, but I know it's far better to go down the charity route to help the genuine people that have fallen on hard times. It's incredibly scummy to pretend to be homeless to get money from peoples empathy and goodwill.
I'm on the train home after flipping my car on my way into work. That was ****ing scary. I'm just lucky that the person behind me stopped to help get me out as there were flames coming out of the engine when I looked back. Somehow don't have a scratch on me despite the car rolling several times and landing on the roof.
