I bought it as a souvenir from Scotland, but it looks like it's going to be gross. I might take it to the next party I get invited to.

It's like manky sherry, plus what feels like a pot of coffee hit. Nasty but effective

To quote the boys from the Psychology Department of the University of Wollomalloo: this is not a wine for drinking, it’s a wine for laying down and avoiding...

Looking forward to my trip back to South Africa in November and sampling all those wonderful wines I fell in love with when I was there. Unoaked Sauvignon or Chardonnay are the only whites I'll drink, I much prefer red and some of their more robust reds are stunning. Can't wait! :emoticon-0110-tongu

Going by PL's liking for sweetness I suspect he'd quite like a Rivesaltes Muscat, or a Monbazillac, or if he's really got some change, a Sauternes. Of course, they're only super cheap if you go there, but relative bargains can be had here too.

Ever been to Monbazillac TSS? I've holidayed very close to there a few times. Did a tasting at the Chateau.. too sweet for me.

No I haven't mate. And I've only had a couple of glasses of Monbazillac myself. Too sweet for me too, but I can why people might like it because it's not just sweet. It has a fairly complex flavour, but my palate just cries out TOO SWEET.!
Besides which, it's white wine, and if I was going to go to a château for a tasting it would be one famous primarily for a red, like a Pinot Noir or something.

Got sent an email a few days ago after being in a chat with a friend about Scots comedian Craig Ferguson. If you give me the chance I will wax lyrical about how funny I find him, and the show he gave up nearly 3 years ago to let James Corden have a go at. To this day there are many who are still on medication because their CF Late Late Show fix is gone.
When I disconnected my TV aerial around 2009 my TV viewing became more selective and international. And I was watching a lot less anyway. It was then I discovered the CF LLS, but I never caught this episode from 2009. It was the 1000th show [he'd been doing it every Mon-Fri since 2005, minus hols]. In this one, CF doesn't actually front the show, but his, at the time, fairly newly introduced impromptu glove puppets do. Honestly, I laughed out loud a lot. That little Alli-Croc character 'Wavy' made me shed tears with laughing. See if you do:

I would say that as little as 15-20 years ago it couldn't.

My local vineyard a couple of miles from home in Wiltshire grows pinot noir too, as well as Pinot Auxerrois. Both very decent wines.
The sparkling is top notch too.

Comedian Sean Hughes has died aged 51 (sounds like liver cirrhosis). Sad news.
