I really enjoyed it, great soundtrack, interesting idea, well cast. I was hoping it would be good and wasn't disappointed. Each to their own I guess but I thought it was a cracking movie.
Anyone watched Outlander and is it any good? I've heard it has had good reviews but I wonder whether it will be similar to Black Sails in that most of the components are good but the final result isn't that watchable.
Mayonnaise . Tried to make 4 times now . Never again . Love the stuff , but now go for the easy option .
I agree, I went in with low expectations as the trailer was a bit corny but came out really pleased that I’d seen it. There was something almost Tarantino like (without the violence and language) about it with the caricature villains, the elusive mob boss and the easily won love interest.
I reviewed it a few weeks back on this very thread. Underwhelming. Personally, I would find something else to watch.
"Schips without mayonnaise is no schips" is, I believe the phrase you're looking for. That is one thing that RK is right about.
I'd read and heard a lot of good reviews and was expecting better. Mark Kermode, who I often find myself agreeing with, absolutely adored it. Apparently he's watched it 3-4 times and it got better. It's certainly in his early top 10 for 2017. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a reasonably good movie, with a good idea with the music. I just don't find it exceptional. I find that if you don't really care what happens to the characters then you really haven't emotionally engaged with the movie, and I never really did.
I love Outlander, great concept and brilliantly written and filmed. Very well cast, just as I imagined after reading the books. You need to start at the beginning though VVD, they're just at the start of Season 3 on Amazon but f you don't watch from the start of Season 1 you'll never work out what's going on. There again, I really enjoyed Black Sails too, so you may not agree with me about Outlander!
Anyone on here watched Timeless on Netflix? So much wrong with the time travel from a science point of view, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth a look if you like that sort of thing (I do)
I add scotch bonnet pepper sauce to Mayo. Mmmm Has to be a good SB sauce though and there is only one!!
Looks like it’s coming back http://deadline.com/2017/08/timeles...r-cancellation-nbc-executives-tca-1202141717/
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/uber-stripped-licence-operate-london-shock-ruling-101637729.html London have stripped Uber of its licence to operate in the capital from the end of this month. Tough on individual drivers who will have been caught on the hop, but with the bad publicity around the company, I (as a lone woman) would never use Uber anyway*. And it is hardly fair that Black Cab drivers have to have such high standards and yet compete with Uber. *Have to admit that as an infrequent user it doesn't bother me paying Cab prices....may feel differently if I was a frequent user.
I'm about 6 episodes in to series 1 and I'm loving it. I haven't read the books but love the atmosphere and the actors are excellent. Give it a go
Woo hoo! Just found out that I had another bet on Virgil to stay that I had completely forgotten! I do like that chap, I don't care what anyone says. Vin
