With Regards to Leroy-what is the fans verdict regards his possible return 1,yes would do a great job. 2,No would be a problem and not be in the interests of Bristol City FC.
Well to be honest every time he's in this league he doesn't set it a light, and pitman would probably score more goals off the bench than Leroy would all season if he started every game, but I said Jason Roberts is too old and is past it so what do I know, he wouldn't be a bad cheap signing though
of the opinion, that quite a lot of us, do stupid things when aged 18-19-20, i certainly did, but you grow up and get on with it, hopefully litas done his growing up. worth a shot.
Yes he can be brilliant - but only infrequently. Yes he has a reputation for being an akward individual. Yes he did not set the world alight at Reading, Middlesbrough or Swansea. So why would we want him back here? We need a squad who will battle for every point from the sunshine of August at Ashton Gate to the miserable cold February nights at Blackburn, Palace et all. At present we can't afford the luxury of a Lita. He just does not tick all the McInnes boxes on his CV!
I feel that McDel will find us a more enticing option - maybe not as glamourous but certainly more effective. And maybe Stead has earned the right to lead us into the new season
I understand that he is not popular with some due to his off pitch antics when here before but as "wings" says, I would hope that he has grown up by now. As for his game, I strongly disagree about his contribution. What you get with Leroy is someone with a great deal of determination and fight (of the right sort) on the pitch and in my opinion, he would give us a dimension that we haven't had since he left as he is the last striker for us who properly attacked both the ball and also the near post with any regularity - for a smallish bloke, he didn't half win his share of headers... In the only full season he played for us in 2004/05, he scored 29 goals in 48 appearances, I don't know about anyone else, but I'd be happy with anything approaching that... There are a few examples of Leroy for us in the following clip, 45 seconds, 1 min 10 in are fairly typical of what you get but he was also capable of 1 min 40 and 2 mins 20, i.e. an all rounder plus, you get to see Scotty in his prime - ah memories, we haven't played football like that for a while http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vZR7Ie-gbI Just re-lived that season, especially the play-off semi final 2nd leg against Hartlepool, I was right beehind Goodfellow's header, the place nearly exploded when Christian Roberts scored in injury time.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7_S9kLZ2FM I am hoping that with DM in charge, we can finally get the right mix of organisation, discipline and attacking qualities on the pitch. We have at times had 1 and sometimes 2 at the same time but never the 3 together...
There should be another option of 'Why don't we trust the manager to bring in who he thinks will improve us'
Don't think they would be happy until he delivers, championship title, Premiership title, Champions league winners, world club winners euro championship and World cup winners all in his first full season without a single Scottish player In all fairness, I would think that Del knows that he has history for his attitude when younger and knows that people grow up. I don't think Del takes fools gladly and will stamp his authority on any player who steps out of line. Or if he thinks they are lazy and not a team player look at Pitman. We should trust in the manger to get on with his Job and bring in players who he chooses. We have to stop thinking because we have one of the richest owners, that we can go out and blow out a fortune on players. He has spoken to the chairman knows his budget prob still wants some players to be sold and rebuild his own team who thinks will improve us. Transfer window officially opens today be patient unless we get players who will cost a fortune in wages and cripple the finances further.
