Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has told four of his players they can find new clubs. Alan Tate, 30, Luke Moore, 27, Kemy Agustien, 26 and Leroy Lita, 28, were all left out of the Swans' squad for their pre-season trip to Holland. Full story: South Wales Echo
Hawk, I'm sorry we are in a new era, we don't want a self proclaimed brat ruining our new dream, no thank you JET is enough...
Agree with Wiz - Lita does not fit into the young player philosophy that we are now following plus he's a bit past his prime now. It would be a silly signing.
28 for a forward is hardly old and for a free transfer it would possibly be a good replacement if it is true that either Davies or Baldock are off especially as he would hold the ball up well for midfield players to get forward, like I've said before if Sean and his team think they want the players because they think they can do a job that's fine with me. I would certainly rather have Lita than the other younger striker linked with us this week Nile Ranger.
Damaged goods to the point you fear what could happen to him if he returned. Not settled anywhere. Good player, high high risk.
I will have him back providing he has grown up and isn't a knob off the pitch anymore free transfer, only 28 he has got a few years left in him
At the moment there are no reports of where he is going I would assume if they offer him a contract he will go there but nothing has been said yet.
He was a pacey bull, but once he had his back injury, he lost that part of his game... I can't see Davies going anywhere, and no one above us will take the risk on Baldock. JET sat behind those two if all three are fit, is a very attractive goal scoring outfit. Leroy would be a damp squib I reckon, and wouldn't have the fight in him in this league.
We could have done with him last season and this Davies and Baldock seem to have forgotten all about the reason they are playing is to put the ball into the onion bag Lita did that for Sheffield Wednesday last year which helped them stay up.
Report: City 0-1 Glasgow Rangers Posted: Sat 13 Jul 2013 Author: Mark Perrow Ashton Gate Ashton Gate Image by: bcfc.co.uk Scots take the honours in the Blackthorn Cup. City were beaten by a solitary goal as Rangers claimed the Blackthorn Cup on a balmy summer’s day at Ashton Gate. In baking conditions, substitute Lewis MacLeod provided the decisive blow with a low shot on 63 minutes, much to the delight of the Rangers masses behind the goal, who travelled in great numbers to provide a touch of extra spice to the pre-season atmosphere. City new boy Scott Wagstaff – one of six summer arrivals on display from the start – struck the first warning shot with a 30-yard drive comfortably fielded by Cammy Bell in the Rangers goal. It was a first half starved of chances, but the visitors did threaten twice from set-pieces. First Nicky Law’s corner was only half-cleared by Jordan Wynter and fell invitingly to Lee Wallace, only for the skipper to scuff his effort on the volley as it brushed against a City leg on its way behind for another flag kick. The main source of entertainment was provided by over 2,500 travelling fans in a blue-coated East End, who never stopped singing throughout as temperatures neared 30 degrees at Ashton Gate. On the field, Ally McCoist’s men came closest to an opening goal when Steven Smith was offered a second chance to deliver when his initial free kick hit the City wall. Second time around the winger opted to lay the ball off for Kyle Hutton, who unleashed a first-time dipping shot always curling away from Frank Fielding, but the debutant keeper was on hand to tip the ball over the bar diving high to his right. Rather than make wholesale changes at the interval as in previous friendlies, Sean O’Driscoll opted to delay the majority of his substitutions a little longer. Just after the hour mark, the City head coach replaced his entire starting back three – selected in the absence of injured duo Brendan Moloney and Greg Cunningham – as James Wilson, Louis Carey and Mitch Brundle entered the fray. But immediately a goal followed on the back of a rare Carey mistake. In attempting to shepherd the ball out for a goal kick, the veteran defender was dispossessed by Jon Daly, who found Andy Little before MacLeod drilled a low shot between the legs of Dutch trialist Kelle Roos in the City goal. An immediate opportunity to draw level came and went when Wes Burns showed his pace to pull away from the Gers defence, only to drag his shot wide of the far post. By the 77th minute, O’Driscoll had fielded a whole new side and a third goalkeeper, as fellow trialist Elliot Parish was given a chance to impress at Roos’ expense. Replacement left-back Tom King showed a glimpse of his talent with a positive run and excellent cross in towards the dangerous aerial threat of Ryan Taylor, but the striker was off target with his stooping header, and Rangers held on fairly comfortably for the win. Bristol City: Fielding (Roos 46, Parish 77), Flint (Wilson 62), Fontaine (Carey 62), Williams (Brundle 61), Wagstaff (King 72), Wynter (Kilkenny 55), Kelly (Dobie 77), Bryan (Ajala 73), Emmanuel-Thomas (Reid 55), Davies (Burns 46), Baldock (Taylor 46). Rangers: Bell, Foster (Faure 77), Mohsni, Cribari (Gasparotto 70), Wallace, Little, Hutton (Black 67), Law, Smith (MacLeod 55), Daly (McCulloch 63), Clark (Crawford 55). Not a single shot worth a mention from Davies and Baldock
