...with new club Swansea City, having been signed for the ubiquitous 'undisclosed' fee from Middlesbrough today. Seems an eternity ago he top-scored for us while on loan...with 7 (seven) and O.G. was second with 6. as I recall. Dark days indeed
To me it is a strange signing. Leroy has become a journeyman in the last few years but has scored goals everywhere he goes. Not sure he will get enough in the PL to help Swansea though.
Must admit, I would have been very disappointed if we had re-signed him, but I couldn't tell you why! He just never inspired confidence in me!
Swansea just seem to be buying attacking players and that's it. Graham and now lita. Also trying for routledge on top of dyer, Sinclair and dobbie. That's a lot of attack minded players.
Brendan Rodgers clearly thinks along the same lines and PL and thinks all out attack is the way to go, worked last season for them (most of the time)
I suppose it makes more sense than that sumo carthorse Jason Scotland they were enquiring about re-signing a few weeks ago.
I couldn't believe my eyes when they were linked with him... I thought rodgers had actually lost the plot lol!
I remember three of those goals were in one game against Wolves which we won 5-2, that game by all accounts was one of the biggest false dawns I have ever experienced.
I am not happy we are for him I must admit, the guy is trouble IMO and you are right we do need one or two defensive players, we have signed one already btw
I actually wouldn't mind him, although we are pretty busy up front now. But he works his nuts off, evidence of that against Cardiff last season where he done us a massive favour. I fancied Middlesborough being up there, changed my mind now, I rate Lita.
Why are you resurrecting such an old, irrelevant thread Tony? Lita scored on home debut for new club Birmingham last night, but that bears no relevance to this 'old chestnut'?
It's not meant to be fun, when Maestro and I did it, it was for a good reason, to move spam down the page and keep proper posts at the top of the page! All you're doing is relegating recent posts out of view just to resurect a post that bears no relevance to anything NCFC today!
But the two that have had new life breathed (temporarily) into them were both started by...moi. So it's quite flattering - if a little pointless?
Oh I don't know. It is sometimes quite interesting to see old comments and see if they were wise words or not. In this case my words were wise, Leroy didn't produce for the Swans but then again he didn't really get much of a chance to shine with them.
I don't like this "bump" game - I read comments I've written without looking at the date and assume my account has been hacked when I don't remember writing them!
