I remember being really excited about the prospect of getting Leroy Fer in our team back in the day. Hopped over to the QPR board to see how he's getting on since his move... Miserably by the sounds of things. Even some chat / rumour this evening of him getting into a punch up with a fan too. So much potential!
Just seen some of his altercation with a fan on MOTD. There was a fan giving the players some stick after the game (they haven't an away point all season), and Fer was climbing over the hoardings to go to him, until Barton of all people pulled him back. Fer was still mouthing off when the clip finished.
Shocking. Did you see the Posh chairman's twitter rant?! Unbelievable. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30765555
That's a bit harsh on his team, they were playing against the Norfolk Pirlo, David Fox. But yeah, utterly ridiculous and totally unprofessional. Although I'm glad its McNally not Delia who represents our board on twitter!
I find Twitter like a series of short text messages with people forwarding those from celebrities. Facebook and Twitter 2 ways idiots find to offend or be offended on mass, grown men acting like gossipy women.
The o/p Fer : The games that QPR have won at home Leroy has been excellent assisting their first goal of the season with a knock down to Austin from a corner and he has scored a few good important goals himself. QPR very much like us are awful away in the Prem probably worse and when you are losing to Burnley and know you will be back in the drop zone fans get nasty. Fer either plays brilliantly running the midfield and scoring great goals or absolute dross walking around with his hands on his hips like he is forced to do PE because he forgot his kit but made to wear lost property. He was at times good for us but the money we got was worth selling him, it would be satisfying to go up and QPR go down . They could potentially be in deep **** for spendind too much and possibly be demoted a few leagues below.
Chatting to a Feyenoord fan who admired Fer and thought he was a quality player- initially disappointed when he left but qucikly started to think that he actually upset the balance of a side, and thought feyenoord played better without him- not good enough to build a team around, will occasionally produce fantastic displays, but not frequently enough
I'm afraid I have little sympathy for players with ideas above their station, who jump ship on relegation, rather than staying on to rectify the wrongs.
Rupert Murdoch has 'Tweeted' something aimed at causing offence & 1000s of offended people chose to 'retweet' his offensive comment to show how offended they were as a result offending all their followers who inturn keep the chain letter going. People will no doubt watch his News channel and buy his newspaper to see if he makes an apology . Ridiculous. The world is behind the war for freedom of speech how dare Rupert say something like that? .
I always found Fer very insolent he generally doesn't care, in his last months the way he conducted himself of social media was inappropriate.
Not the first young footballer to had tonnes of ability but a poor attitude. Won't be the last either. Needs a manager who can guide him properly. I very much doubt that man will be Harry Redknapp.
