These words....too good to be relegated...how many times has he said this Swansea City midfielder Leroy Fer says they are too good to be relegated from the Premier League this season. Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Arsenal, the Swans' first match under new boss Bob Bradley, saw them slip to 19th in the table with eight games played. Swansea have not won since they beat Burnley on the opening day, but Fer is confident they can turn things around. "I think this squad is too good to go down, we have strong players and a strong team," he told BBC Wales Sport. "We just need to get the points. The Premier League is hard, but I think our players are too good to go down. "It is easy [to know what we need to do] to climb up the table and not go down. We need some wins to go with strong performances."
Was talking to a Swans-supporting acquaintance of mine on the blower last week about Leroy Ferburger. I said that we'd had a player at QPR with the same name a little while back, but it couldn't be the same guy as the one we had was pretty useless and didn't score goals as regularly as the Swans' recent signing. My acquaintance said that he and his mates, all of whom are season ticket holders at the Liberty Vallance, were disappointed that Ferburger kept scoring recently, as these exploits seemed to be sufficient for him to keep his place when they believed that he does **** all else and goes missing for long periods of the game. Perhaps it is the same player after all?
It wouldbn't be a hat-trick as he wasn't relegated last season! He would be joining the list of Quashie, Hreidesson etc as multiple relegatees! Townsend is a contender for that group as well! I expect three out of Hu,, Burnley, Middlesbrough & Sunderland to keep Fer & Townsend safe this season though.
I watched the highlights on MOTD last night and at least on three occasions he let an Arsenal player drift by him and couldn't keep up with them trying to track back. Show pony.
