I wish we had a paper like L'Equipe in England, it's excellent. Interesting they have picked up on Schneiderlin though, they are a very influential in French sport and if they shout people tend to listen.
Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere http://www.fansonline.net/portsmouth/article.php?id=2477#.UVwjDVdIb58
I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's embarassing that they used that photo - showing Southampton fans celebrating: almost as if we are so desperate to stay up that we are actually happy and smiling when we score a goal. Come on, Saints fans, pull yourself together!
To be fair to the nightclub, Dyer was going through coat pockets and bags when they got into trouble. Without that incident he would have probably still been with us (unless sold to pay bills) turned out a cracking little player and probably would have been better playing nonstop in the lower divs
As much as I'd love him to have stayed, he surely has to be one of the success stories of players leaving Southampton for better things. Dyer, Bale, and probably Walcott have been far more succesful having left Saints than had they stayed with us. Nevertheless, I'm sure Oxlade-Chamberlain and Surman would have progressed more if they'd stayed with us, it depends player to player really.
Google translate not as funny with French as with Spanish or Italian. It almost made sense. Good luck to Morgan, but I don't know what his competition is for that position. Nicola must be pleased...our profile is bigger in Europe these days.
I think there's a chance of him being called up - Deschamps is a smart man, and Morgan fits that "water carrier" mould that Deschamps did pretty well. You'll remember (perhaps) as well that the French are aware of Southampton - Platini reputedly spent time trying to persuade MLT to be French.....
They have heard of Southampton in my local PMU bar, because I bore for England on the subject! I watched the Chelsea game on some sort of ESPN pirated station in my local bar with a number of French footie fans. They were impressed by the team, and by Morgan. And as said above, L'Equipe is influential. My white France shirt printed with Schneiderlin is starting to be noticed!
