Didn't see this posted by anyone. Great news that a deal is more less done, a new 3 year deal keeping him at the liberty until 2015 and he wants to end his playing days with us. All we need now is for Sinclair to do the same. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17490671
A handshake of the finest quality . Besides Sinclair I hope Agustien signs also as I think he'll play a bigger role next season IF he can stay healthy . Cheers valley !
Great for Leon, great for the club. He's carved out quite a role for himself and established himself as one of the top performers in that role in the league and in Europe. At the end of the new contract he's going to be around 32 to 33. Now it's time to identify, acquire and start grooming his successor.
His successor could well be Joe allen with Lee lucas coming in for Joe !! Haven't seen much of lucas but when i have watched him he looks like he has great potential and could well be a 1st team player if he progresses from injury and loan spells with other teams . I would like Kemy to sign along with sinclair who has overall done great, maybe next season other teams will consider him not much of a threat and that will give him more room, it will be dyers turn to face special treatment then
the surprise player of the season for me who must be at the top or very close to the top as player of the season......The jury is still out about agust for me, if we can get better then i would and let agust go.
Not sure but I think Leon is a bit more relaxed with contract talks with Buck around than the time Sousa was around , could be wrong though....... Lol !!
Crackerjack, that's definitely the case. Sousa wasn't that interested in Britton and was slowly phasing him out of the team, onto the bench, and then probably out of the club. When you don't feel wanted by a manager, it's easy to start looking elsewhere. Britton's signature is vitally important to us and I'm glad we're going to get it! *touch wood*
If Dyer goes then we will get decent money for him and bring in another player that will work for us, Dyer does well beating players but his end product while improving drasticly is not a million miles ahead of sinclair and routledge
Leon couldn't go anywhere , his heart wouldn't be able to take it . To me , Leon going , then coming back , then have this type of season at the top level is one of the top feel good stories I've ever witnessed in sports for an individual & believe me , Ive been a sports fanatic for 50 odd years & seen a lot of athletes come & go . P.S. More than likely a Swansea manager of the future IMO!!
Great news. Leon is definitely one of the few adopted Jacks in the team! Hoping we get Sinclair signed down and Augustien. I hope we don't lose Dyer as he's simply unplayable at times. There aren't many wingers in the Premier League that can bamboozle a defender the way he does!
the player that has been a bit of a disapointment for me this season is sinclair, he to me has not looked as good this season than last season, he seems to be a bit to greedy at times where he trys to go for glory when he could have passed the ball to danny who was in a better position to score. so his school report from me would read .....skillful player but needs to know when to pass the ball at the right time instead of going for glory...7/10
Another point about Sinclair is the number of times he blazes the ball over the bar when well placed. Anyone notice? It seems as though he's going for the spectacular instead of getting the ball on target. He really should concentrate on doing this more because it's amazing how often a goal is scored between the keeper's legs, or if the keeper makes a mistake. If the shot is on target it always has a chance of going in. If the keeper saves there is the chance of a rebound falling to one of our players but there is no hope of that if the ball is in the stand. Keep 'em down, Sincs!!
Remember Leon being out of favour during Jackett's reign, he was often left on the bench and possibly looked to be on his way out but thankfully our style changed with the new manager to suit him. When Sousa arrived and overlooked him he probably felt that his time with us was up but he admitted a spell away made him realise how special playing for the Swans was. One of my greatest wishes was granted when he came back to the Liberty and he's gone from strength to strength under Brendan, am sure he wouldn't have had to be asked twice about signing an improved contract. As for Scott he has found it more difficult at this level, goals haven't flowed but overall he has still contributed to our fine season though more as provider than a taker of chances. Seems to snatch at opportunities with several going high and handsome but at least he has been getting into the right positions and maybe a flukey goal will settle his anxiety. I do still rate highly as he can be a match winner and am hoping that he will commit to extend his contract.
