Best added: "In the first half, it was like nothing at all was going for us. We were 2-0 down after two or three minutes and it was the worst start we could have possibly had. The first half was so hard. We couldn't get anywhere near them and it was just a matter of chasing.
"It felt like even when we were chasing, nothing was happening and it was a matter of keeping trying hard. At half-time the manager said 'keep going and give everything.' And what happened next shows what we have as a team; commitment, work-rate, desire."

I like Best. Even from just watching him play in a couple of games i think he trys as hard as he can which is what i want from the players at this club. Forget signing little fancy bastards from italy or france (although i am happy with ben arfa) if we just keep this kind of team mentality going we'll survive easily

    ^ Disagree.

Looks more of a threat than Ameobi.

He just does my tits in, he's always offside even when looking across the line. His movement is dreadful and he has no awareness. I'd have Shola in the team over him any day, he was dreadful against Fulham as well.

Every match he's looked a threat and worked hard. should have had 2 goals yesterday as well. He's not as bad as you're making out.

4 goals in 5 isnt bad though, whatever you think of him. And it should be 5 in 5.

Looks more dangerous than Shola has this season and has a far better strike and first touch.

West Ham = Brilliant performance & a hat-trick to top it of!
Sunderland = Decent performance, looked a threat, worked hard but lacked a finishing touch.
Spurs = Average performance, but did OK in general, didn't look that good but wasn't poor.
Fulham = Poor performance but couldn't really get a look in all night, most of the team looked very average.
Arsenal = Decent performance in general, worked hard, got a nice goal, had a rubbish first half but improved in the second.

Hard-working striker, decent pace.. although needs to stay onside, improve his mobility and improve his finishing. I say GIVE HIM CHANCE.. until the end of the season then we'll weigh up our options.

To be fair... not many played well in the first half. He improved in the second. But he was awful at staying onside... i counted at least 6 or 7 times and it wasn't even marginally offside.

Best is an okay striker, but work rate is the most important thing I want to see from a player.

An average player who puts in a lot of effort is better than a good player who doesn't (eg. Owen).

Best is a better option than Lovenkrands who did nothing yesterday. I like Lovenkrands and he was a massive player for us last season, but I think his time and the top top level is over and he'll probably go in summer or be kept purely as a cup player / occasional sub.

I really want to see Best and Ranger start a game and go all or most of the 90 minutes. A lot of people have slated Ranger for various reasons, but he has yet to actually start a game and get stuck in from the beginning. That's when I believe we'll see what his potential is.
