Yet more Football news for you Forest Hill. Roland has bought Lens. https://www.voetbalkrant.com/nl/nie...t-steekt-een-nieuwe-ploeg-in-zijn-portemonnee
Luckily it appears that they have just been relegated to the second division; which I assume will keep them threatening our place as second or third in the Network hierarchy. Interestingly Wikipedia says they have an English 18 year old centre half who has played for the England Under 17s... Perhaps he'll come our way?
it's a bit like monopoly for him, one property in each colour, but no real success. katrien might fancy it there
Spot on SIG. Mayfair, Leicester Square, Regent Street and Old Kent Road. It's all academic if he ends up with a whole set of valueless 'going nowhere' clubs.Lens have been in Europe in the past, Leige are there every season, and Charlton at least have the Premiership within sight (although nowhere near yet) but the rest (sorry Alcorcon) diminish in omportance faster than a slide down the Scottish leagues, from Celtic to Stranraer). There were a few places where Church could have maybe shone, but he is history now, and as an experiment, it all seems pretty valueless at the moment. We need decent signings this season, and I would imagine the fans of all the other clubs may feel the same. A faliure at Liege may be able to float down and get minutes at Charlton or Jena (I can't even remember the full list of 'properties' RD owns now) but the top couple of clubs need to sign the best available to move up, not the cast offs of the nearest equivalent inthe network. Jack of all trades.......
Good away day is lens. Not that I ever went as a charlton fan in Europe If RD can get them promoted at the first attempt then we will have to keep an eye on them. They're still highly regarded in France so getting players to join wouldn't be a problem. Reckon lens will enjoy a Andy delort saga this summer too
What odds that Reams' best mate, that professional Pinnichio Katrien Meire, ends up as CEO of Lens ? It must be a long shot though, according to her last public pronouncement she has "fallen in love with Charlton"
