Neil Lennon has given a scathing response to former Barcelona midfielder Bernd Schuster's criticism of Celtic's tactics at the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

The German said that teams like Lennon's should not be in the Champions League, despite the Scots being seconds away from drawing in Spain. "I am disappointed that the media here wanted to emphasise his thoughts on the game," said Lennon of the reports.

"It's just the ramblings of someone who has failed as a coach."

"I was sitting there 60 minutes into the game thinking 'God, what is Bernd Schuster thinking of our performance here, I better change it'," was Lennon's sarcastic response. <laugh>

Apparently, Schuster was sacked by Real because he claimed it was "impossible to win at the Nou Camp" just before they played there.

I'm sure you all already know that, though...

Shuster gets the taigs beelin <laugh>

Funny that russ takes messi's anti-football remark as gospel because he is a world class player for Barcelona but not shuster's remark who was also a world class player for Barcelona. Wonder why that is?

I really don't care what you think of what I do. At least I'm out there doing something unlike you who spends his life wasted on valium, getting pished and spending all day and night on a football forum talking ****e.

Trevor, many people in football world wide regard Messi as one of the top players, if not the very best over the last number
of years. This half wit failure Shuster's opinion carries no weight compared to the football genius Messi. It could even be
argued that Messi is a man of vision. When he spoke of Rangers been anti-football how many people knew just how right
he was. No sporting personality ever hit the nail on the head as accurately as Messi. How come when the best footballer
in the world playing in Spain knew exactly that Rangers were anti Football, surely the MSM and those in charge of Scottish
Footballers should have copped on to what cheat Murray and others were up to.

1:Where did I say that? Where did I agree with Messi? That's right, I did no such thing, you are almost as bad as Medro getting for imagining things that you think people said.

2: Did I miss something and Shuster played against Celtic or Rangers in any of these games? The Sun for some strange reason decided to run with something he said on a Spanish radio show, i'm assuming they had it translated it into English? Why bother, I can't see the Spanish press reporting the opinions of Mark McGhee given on Real Radio can you?

Shuster is an irrelevance, his opinion is worth as much as anyone's or no one's, but he is the one solitary person who has openly criticised Celtic so that's good enough for you is'nt it? Because it backs up your own myopic view. <laugh>

Trevor you should be more worried what's happening in scot div 3 than than the big boys champions league. Remember even in some of these games the bakers /dentists/ brick layers / school teachers / bus drivers/ fat pub players have had more possesion than your over paid huddies . Come on the Clyde

Bernd Schuster was once a good footballer but latterly a mediocre manager. He and his now ex-wife tended to be outspoken in the statements they made. It seemed as if they deliberately set out to make a name for themselves in media circles and they were controversial self-publicists. I have not heard what he actually said about Celtic but if the report in a Scottish newspaper is correct then it would seem that he is still desperately seeking attention by making what amounts to a pathetic statement. I wouldn't pay it any mind - he's just a ragged clown ...
