Loved watching that fight at the time, and some really good memories watching it back now. Such a shame that Tyson was old and slow though - I dont think Lewis would have got near him when he was younger.

Nobody got near Tyson, Lennox will always be my idol, his autobiography is a decent read

Boxing seems to be the only sport where according fans each generation gets worse than the last despite the improved training etc.

I agree by the way <cheers>

People can’t take the hits like they used to, there’s no doubt about that.

There was that mid to late 90’s era which was just sensational, Lewis, Collins, Benn, Eubank, Holyfield, Tyson... I know I’m crossing some lines of prime and weight there but **** me compared to now?

    Golden era.

The era before was brilliant too, but welter & middle weights. The hitman, sugar ray, Hagler, Chavez. Duran arguably the best pound for pound fighter around at lightweight. Hard as ****... hands of stone.

And the start of the Benn & Eubanks rivalry & fights, which were cracking.

and of course Barry McGuigan......& Glen McRory!

Aye but before my time but watched a load from that era and agree, people hit hard and took hard, they tend to be one or the other now.

They haven’t the personalities at the minute either, bar Fury who is quality.
