Flo was one of the better defenders In la liga wasn’t he? he’ll be sold for **** all abs not his true worth because of one person. Steve Bruce. Under Rafa Flo and Lascelles and Schar were all £20m players. Under Brice we’d struggle to get £20m for all 3. He stifles development and saps confidence with his prehistoric tactics.
Looks like this is either more or less complete or done. I have mixed feelings. He always thought he looked a good player but injuries seemed to kill him and when he was rushed back when celery not fit he looked like a cart horse.
Best memory of him will always be the 2 against Everton Very classy player, doesn't need to be the quickest in a back 3. Much better than idiots like Lascelles
Even if he stayed Id og wanted is to sign someone up, that being Said, he has a better brain than Jamaal. We have a championship back 4, Manq probs our best player there. Jamaal is worthless. Was it against Burnley or West Ham? Our captain left his man, completely not paying attention and when he scored he blamed everyone around him. ****.
Wants out so I just wish him well. Little point forcing someone to stay who is in the last year of a contract. I think once you add in the two serious knee injuries, I think the more gentle pace in Spain will suit his physical condition better. Its a shame because when he was able to stay fit in England he was a good player. I just think the physical demands of the league at his age, with the injuries, I'd have reservations whether he would cope. He's not much use in the treatment room regardless how good he is. Doesn't change that Lascelles is now past his best, and given his best was never stellar anyway, then its disappointing he seems to be the main man under Bruce like he was Rafa. Not sure what they are seeing because I've seen mahogany that's more flexible - stiff as a board is an understatement. If he is Bruce's main man it will be a concern. Schar is the other concern. He looked to be agitating last year, had poor form compared to previous and is also in the last year. So I doubt he will sign up as he will be looking for his last big pay day at 29. Then we have Fernandez in the same contract hole. If Lejeune wasn't going to sign a contract then we can't enter 21/22 with Dummett, Lejeune, Schar, Fernandez all out of contract. To have two 29 yr olds, a 30 yr old and a 32 yr old all in the last year of their contract, all playing the same position would be daft. We just don't have that kind of luxury to sit it out like a big 6 team. The fact we are actually desperate for the 4m is a concern. Dummett and Schar are only with us because of the optional year we had too. That suggests that neither was willing to commit to a contract given our willingness to sign up others on longer contracts. It seems to be the same with Lejeune. Who can blame any of the three. The club is not exactly going places at present.
We are gonna be ****ed come the end of the season at centre back with another 3 also out of contract. Well I say ****ed, but once the takeover goes through I suppose we will be signing the likes of De Ligt so I probably shouldn't bother raising the concern.
Shortest post you've ever made? I agree though. Don't worry though Bruce will bring through the likes of Watts and Cass
