I always liked Leigertwood and thought he was a player who had potential yet couldn't achieve consitency or concentration with us. Now he's a Reading favourite. ------------------ Leigertwood expects response Last Updated: November 1, 2012 1:18pm Mikele Leigertwood: Confident Reading will respond to their Capital One Cup disappointment against Arsenal Retrieving latest Sky Bet odds Reading are ready to learn from their mistakes against Arsenal and take advantage of QPR's problems, according to midfielder Mikele Leigertwood. Brian McDermott's squad will still be in shock after blowing a four-goal lead to lose 7-5 after extra time to the Gunners on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup. But Reading will need to shake off any hangover as quickly as possible ahead of Sunday's Premier League basement battle with fellow winless strugglers QPR at Loftus Road. And Leigertwood said in The Standard: "Arsenal are a good side and if we don't do the stuff that we're good at, then we'll get punished. "Unfortunately that was the case in the second half. "The QPR match will be a test but we've shown time and time again that we can bounce back. There's no reason why we can't go and get a positive result on Sunday. "They've spent a lot of money over the summer but things aren't clicking for them. But we're not worried about them. We focus on ourselves." http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ing-to-bounce-back-from-Arsenal-defeat-at-QPR
If I remember rightly, we were playing him at right full back just before we cast him adrift. Never his position. Got a helluva shot on him - but he was unpredictable and I wouldn't have him back
Yep never looked convincing when I saw him play for us although he had the odd storming game and scored some belters. Looks decent at Reading so far though.
I know this is stating the obvious but the first goal is crucial in this game. If we allow them to get it, it will be a great fillip to them after their hard Gunner's game and the pressure will be on us big time. Conversely, if we score first (and not too early), we may just see a win. Both teams desperate for the win. It could be a great match to watch - for the neutral!
Remember that game well, looked like a lost soul. I bumped in to Jay Tabb the morning after the Arse game, he was(as expected) totally devastated and blanked anyone who wanted to talk to him about the game. I hope that game dosen't galvanisze them!
He almost looked like he was being payed by the opposition. Yet at times he was my man of the match. He was a mixed bag. Now seems consistent at Reading. Is he their captain?
No Col he had his one season 30yrd screamer last week, so that should be it for the year, he now should go back to being crap.
