They have lost their last four in the Premier League, and sit 19th in the table, 2 points from 17th and safety, but a whopping 8 points above Southampton, who are bottom of the table. Their top scorer is Jamie Vardy, with 6 goals, followed by Facundo Buonanotte and Jordan Ayew with 4 each. As for us, we're on a great run at the moment, having won 3, drawn 2 and lost 1 in our last 6. Our turn in form has seen us move away from the relegation zone and we now sit 13th on 32 points, closer to a playoff place than relegation. Lovely stuff. As we all know though, that is all irrelevant come Saturday, when the magic of the Cup kicks in, and...nah, who am I kidding...we've been crap in the cup since I was a kid. The last time we got beyond the fourth round was in 2018/19, and before that it was in 1996/97. Only the older ones on here will have clear memories of our quarter final exit to Man Utd in 94/95, even older if you remember the Liverpool quarter-final exit in 1989/90, and for those who remember the final loss against Spurs in 1982, I'd love to hear some memories below. Oh to witness a cup run. The stuff of legend. Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you are making the journey, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Cheers Dave. I think it’s a 2 pm kick off because rugby is more important than football in Leicester. I also suspect that we did the ‘played for both’ list to the ultimate level last season, so Horny has his work cut out to add to it.
Surely everyone thinks we are safe in mid table now, so we can have a go in the Cup. Leicester won this a couple of years ago, their fans don’t think it’s irrelevant, and neither do I. However I suspect neither team will be at full strength.
Agree...not too worried about the league now, and I'd love to see a cup run. If for no other reason, it's good for the bank balance.
Good grief. Admittedly we were in the 3rd Division South at the time but how did we lose the talents of Arthur Chandler to Leicester in 1923 and where were they? I ask simply because I've never seen such a prolific goal scoring ratio before. 259 goals in 393 appearances over 12 years. Not irrelevant but equally not important enough to risk unnecessary injuries or disciplinary sanctions for any of our first team players. It's alright for Leicester who will probably wheel out the likes of Jamie Vardy and someone else who cost them millions in the last few years and couldn't be arsed enough to earn it by keeping them up. At long last we have the luxury of most of out first team squad fit so let's keep it that way.
We've got a record to keep...don't want to lose that to Plymouth or whoever the other ****test 3rd round team is
I think we should go on a winning run. Seize the opportunity, we can do this. Blue & white all night! Then l woke up .......... and we still won!
fourth round we wouldnt know what to do with a fourth round does anyone even know where it is please log in to view this image
Yes that little **** was a nobody until he scored 2 against us, we was odds on to win that & was hoping for a Wembley date in may
Surely players coming back from injury will play, as need game time. Loanees to play, Dunne because he is presently Mr QPR our leader. Nardi or Walsh Ashby, Dunne, JCS, Paal Saito ,Ronnie, Morgan, Colback, Chair Alfie
Mixed opinions about this game. Like all cups, it's the major teams that usually go on to win it. Look at the carabau cup, arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool and spurs fighting it out. The prestige and nostalgia disappeared years ago for the fa cup. Not really arsed about it to be fair.
Though I have made the executive decision to not attend despite it looking like a lot of fun with a big turnout. Lots of travel and expense with football and work coming up and a day in Leicester ranks only marginally above an evening in Hull. It has all the indicators of a disappointing and drab defeat. Good form and large away following in what is on paper a winnable tie if they rest a few. Usually ends badly.
An amusing Twitter thread on our sparkling FA Cup record. https://x.com/draper_rob/status/1876943402354221232?t=2_uRPIl7_gpurr_u8o9MeQ&s=19
The annual opportunity to watch this. Simpler times. Managed to draw twice and lose on penalties to this. It’s quite quaint.
