Leicester City v Swansea City Sunday 24 April 2016 Kick off 16:15 Following their disappointing 0-3 defeat at next to bottom Newcastle, Swansea next have to travel to face league leaders Leicester who managed to salvage a point with a last minute penalty against West Ham. The Swans will face a Leicester team bereft of their leading scorer Jamie Vardy who was sent off in the 56th minute for a second yellow card. Vardy’s dismissal polarised opinion and Jon Moss, the referee, will not be getting Christmas cards posted from Leicester for some time. Francesco Guidolin will be hoping that the challenge of facing the Premier League leaders will be sufficient incentive for the players to ensure no repeat of the lack lustre performance witnessed on Tyneside - particularly as the Swans are not yet mathematically assured on playing PL football next season. In the reverse fixture at the Liberty Stadium in December, Riyad Mahrez's hat-trick propelled Leicester to the top of the Premier League as they beat Swansea 0-3 in what turned out to be Garry Monk's last game in charge of the Swans. With Leicester showing few, if any signs of nerves, and with their fighting spirit evident in the 10 men battling for the draw against West Ham, I think that it will be a second successive defeat for the Swans with Leicester running out 2-0 winners.
Even without Vardy I anticipate another thumping. Sick of this team and our disappointing season at the moment.
I just hope we put on a decent show in front of a watching football TV nation. Leicester are getting nervous, so if we play well we could sneak a draw.
My wish list is either a 3 man defence or Naughton and Kingsley come in . Would like to see Britton and Ki back in together with Siggy Ayew to sit . Routledge and Barrow in . About it . Just wanna see something new
We always raise our game for the top teams, but Leicester are bit of a bogey team for us historically, so will be happy with a draw, with the hope of stealing a win, which is a tall order given it's an away fixture, Taff thanks, doing a great job with the match day threads..........
I am going to turkey to see my daughter on Wednesday so I will find a bar and watch it out there so I am going for a 1-1 draw
I`m going out on a limb here and predict that we are going to win 2-0. The pressure is going to get to cooking point for them, they are nearly there but not quite. One of the goals might very well be an own goal by Schmeicel who catches the ball but comes down behind the goal line. I would have gone for 3-0 but we haven`t scored three in a game all season. Well that`s me stopping taking drugs for now.
Never know what can happen. Our season has been a season of winning the games we don't expect, and either scraping through or losing the ones that we do expect... Despite our run-in, I still expect 4 points (1 win and 1 draw) to come from it. Such is our season that I can't even begin to predict where those four points will actually come from, but if we go from this season, they'll come from the hardest games on paper. We lost 0-3 at home to Leicester, but Mahrez scored with a handball and an offside first half, and then we got caught on the sucker punch late on trying to get back into the game. If the officials don't make any howlers this time around, we're good enough to hold them to a draw if we play very well. I'm going to go for a dour 1-1 draw.
We usually do crap against teams we should beat like the last game and somehow turn it on when we`re underdogs so without vardy we may nick a point ? Leicester will be up for it after that ref shafted them against the hammers ! if you rolled that ref in flower you would see the wet spam spot ! so 3-2 to us with a tidy ref and our team giving their 0ne in 6 good performances on the day ! I am usually optomistic but in reality prob get stuffed big time in this one
TBH this games a win win for me personally as I'd like us to win first obviously but if we lose I'd be content with helping the underdogs win the league. My team selection for this game;
Hope you're feeling better Taff This will be an extremely tough game and Leicester will come storming out of the blocks. However if we can keep them quiet for 20 mins and possibly nick a goal then those table topping nerves could kick in. BUT we must defend 100% better than last Saturday
