That first half was a total injustice, we completely played them off the park and yet they get 1 chance and take it. They took kick off and nearly first kick of the game put David Nugent in but Spector took him out. Martyn Waghorn missed a complete sitter from 2 yards out after Andy King put it on a plate. Their right back made Robbie Neilson look steady and composed. He had a shocker and should of been sent off, Lloyd Dyer dummed the ball and he slid in, took Dyer out and didnt touch the ball. It should of been a second yellow and a penalty for us. Anthony Knockaert once against was unbelievable at times with some of his skills. Their backline struggled all half with our pace Second half was alot more even between the sides Jack Butland made a quality save from Martyn Waghorn and then Kasper made a great save from Marlon King. We didnt create alot until Nigel changed things and brought on Ben Marshall, Jamie Vardy and Marko Futacs. Ben Marshall got the ball and ran with it before shooting from 20 yards which hit the post and went in. Then in the last minute Ritchie De Laet broke through only for Spector to take him out. Spector got sent off and from the resulting free kick Jack Butland made a quality save from Ben Marshall. Birmingham looked pretty poor but we didnt take our chances in the first half. Coming away I was pretty disappointed that we didnt pick up all 3 points but sitting top of the league made things a bit better. Only Jack Butland stopped us from taking all 3 points Overall a decent performance with some stuff to work on. Mainly corners as all the corners taken by both Knockaert and Ben Marshall was pretty crap Zak Whitbread was injured in the last few minutes and Ben Marshall coming on and making an impact means there could be some changes for tuesday night
Most one sided game I've ever seen - We absolutely battered them - the officials were the most disgraceful homers ever to ruin the better sides chances
All they kept doing was flagging Nugent offside 1 thing we should of done was target their right back alot more. Dyer had to beating of him everytime and he was bordering on getting sent off. He had a complete shocker. In the end Curtis Davies and Chris Burke kept having to cover him Defo 2 points dropped today
Yeah their right back, Hurst. He made Michael Lamey look world class. He fouled Dyer continuesly and then blatantly took Konchesky out and got booked. He also took Dyer out for what should have been a second yellow and a peno Spector could have been sent off after 5 seconds. From their kick off they directly passed to Nugent who got fouled
Spector and Hurst were the main culprits, aparently any time we looked dangerous in the first half hour, they were just taking out our players left right and centre, i heard Curtis's name mentioned too ...
Yep pretty much, cynical fouls was all they could do during large periods of the first half. We completely bossed them. They broke and scored. That pretty much sums them up first half
