thing with Hargreaves is that he might well be happy to play for peanuts if he was getting games...I think the more the summer goes on and no-one has picked him up then his wages wouldnt be so much of an issue for him
He'll be on a pay as you play deal, so wages wont be too bad, We can afford to pay big wages, we just dont bother, were one of the biggest clubs in the country still, we shd b able to buy who we want wen we want. Its a bit like my neighbours for example owning Sainsburies, a huuuge buisness but run on a basic 2 persons salary. Barnes was a gd young prospect but has been quiet recently, Wld be great cover for Gradel or Snoddy, Gradel may go yet
Think some one like West Brom will end up taking a punt on Hargreeves. Would be great at this level if he can get games. Not a gamble I would take to be honest. Konchesky I dont rate either, but i understand your frustration with no big names looking close to signing a deal with us.
Yes Leeds are a much bigger club than Leicester, however they seem to have an open cheque book and we can't compete with that!! Leeds are progressing in the right way - they are building a good team and not just buying it and will be there or there about's again. As for Hargreaves - he wouldn't be on cheap wages and has a history of injuy problems!! I would stay well clear to be honest......
If I was a Leicester fan, I'd be rather worried about all these players, especially the wages they must be on. If they don't get promoted this season, then their owner will probably get bored with them and shut up shop. The billionaire owners are great for a period, but when they get bored who on earth can afford to buy them out? This issue will eventually hit Chelsea and Man City, it could even lead to the club being closed down rather than sold for a fraction of the price paid out.
barnes has ended his trial from what I got told last night, my mate said he was on trial at forest but wasnt up to much?? may be true may be not
Could be, it's very unusual for a professional player to go on trial at a club and never take part in an actual game, even a bounce game, so one can only imagine he decided he wasn't up for it or Grayson and his team spotted problems and stopped it.
Konchesky played several games in the premier league last season, poor premier league player but he'll be useful at this level, Hargreaves will be fine at this slower pace
This slower pace? If anything the Championship is more demanding than the Premier League. If Leicester want to sign Konchesky and Hargreaves, then good for them. Konchesky was crap for Liverpool, crap for Nottingham Forest and he's really not that good a player. Hargreaves is fantastic. But the reason that he's linked with clubs like Leicester, is because his fitness and injury record make him a very unattractive signing for any Premier League teams. A fit Owen Hargreaves could walk into any team in the Premiership, and get into a lot of the top teams across Europe. However, he won't play every game, he'll probably be only available for half of them at best. A waste of wages. He last 10 minutes into a game last season. That means that the Man Utd physios, coaches etc. all thought he was fit enough to start a game but then he pulled his hamstring. If we signed him, I'd be disapointed.

Wasn't everyone moaning about us looking at Dudek who had only played X amount of games. Now all of a sudden we should be in for someone who's played hardly any games over the last 3 or 4 years and tends to breakdown at the slightest knock. How fickle are some people?
