Leicester City are yet to venture into the transfer market this summer but that is not for a lack of gossip, the Leicester Mercury reports. A whole host of players have been linked with moves to the Walkers Stadium but no deals have yet been agreed. It is thought the fact that it is known City's owners have money to back manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has sent the rumour mill into overdrive. As a result, the names of players linked to the club has been growing day by day. Some have been legitimate, but some have been the product of agents and players trying to get the best deals possible for their clients and themselves. One area Eriksson definitely wants to stregthen is his goalkeepers following the release of Ricardo. The Foxes were linked with Coventry City's Keiren Westwood, who is now set to move to Sunderland, and Shay Given, but he is thought to prefer a move to Celtic if he leaves Manchester City. Some sources have suggested a £2 million bid for Leeds United's Kasper Schmeichel, while unlikely target 38-year-old Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary claims he is in advanced talks with the club. Carl Ikeme, of Wolves, and Huddersfield Town's Alex Smithies are among the other keepers linked with a move. Eriksson has reported being trying to get former loan players Jeff Bruma and Patrick van Aanholt from Chelsea, Ben Mee from Manchester City and Kyle Naughton from Tottenham Hotspur to join the club on permanent deals. Eriksson has admitted he would like to bring Miguel Vitor back to the club from Portuguese side from Benfica, while John Pantsil's wage demands thwarted interest in the ex-Fulham defender. The midfield is arguably City's strongest area of the team, so rumours are thinner on the ground in this department. Neil Danns was hotly tipped to sign at one stage, but he now seems Rangers-bound. A stream of strikers are being mentioned though, led by former loan signing Yakubu. A bid for in-demand Bristol City forward Nicky Maynard is rumoured to be forthcoming, and the Foxes are reportedly in talks with David Nugent. Marlon King was an option before joining Coventry and free agent Robert Earnshaw has also been touted. Eriksson would love a reunion with ex-England striker Emile Heskey, but the Aston Villa man is unlikely to drop to Championship yet.
