The graveyard outside the Cathedral of the Premier League looks even more foreboding at night time. The rain hammers down, pinging off the metallic gravestones. Unlike the interior of the cathedral behind you, the graveyard is poorly maintained. One grave near you, marked Wimbledon, has certainly seen better days. Old Leicester stands beside you. He’s been a bit more talkative lately. His fox-like face stares out at the graves, his expression unreadable. “Not long left for the two of us here.” He mutters, a misty look in his eyes. “Don’t seem that long ago when I won the title. The Premier League, It …” he pauses. “It wouldn’t leave me alone that summer. Constantly praising me. On and on about the ‘narrative’, whatever that means. Never seen It so happy.” A flash of lightning. The rumble of thunder. The rain seems to fall even heavier now. Leicester turns to look at you. “Have you enjoyed it at all, Ipswich? 22 years is a long wait. Was it worth it?” 1-1 draw (again).
With two games left, it's not just near the end of Premier League story time (which is good, as I'm running out of ideas), but also the predictions league! Most recent table below:
This has 1-1 written all over it. would love to beat them and hopefully Hirst starts the last 2 matches
The graveyard digger and Nuggets clearly in cahoots as he strides away as the deserved leader! Hopefully we play with pride and can outwit the foxes, but they have recent form. 2-2
If I have aspirations to win the prediction league, then I have to go against Nuggets... As he predicted a draw, has this made this one easier fir me.....3-2 town..come on, lets be aving ya.
I am trying every trick in the book to upstage Nuggets! He is invincible and has the brightest crystal ball of them all.
Think if you do go straight back up, don’t let the fairytale sentiment to cloud you all, McKenna is not cut out for the PL
Really pissed off tonight to lose to such a poor side, we had 5 or 6 really good chances 2 of which went high over the bar from 6 yards and about 10 yards respectively, we also had the better of open play with some neat football but it means nothing if we dont score, and that's what we got absolutely nothing. I know the opposition next season should be more in our skills range but anyone who thinks we are nailed on to go straight back up could be in for a shock, although we don't know what players will be here next season there has to be more quality than we have now, we need players who will look up to spot others who are in a better position instead of blasting the ball into the side netting from an impossible to score angle otherwise we will win games but not enough to be worthy of promotion and what lies beyond if we do manage to go up. I hope we have learned that putting out Lg1 and Championship standard players can't work in the Prem.
