Craig Shakespeare’s Leicester City will once again look to strengthen their finishing place in the Premier League, as they host Walter Mazzarri’s Watford at the King Power. Leicester City are eleventh after forcing their way up the table, changing drastically since the sacking of Claudio Ranieri in late February. They will be wanting to get as high up the table as possible as they go into the last few games of the season. Watford are thirteenth after a stable but dull campaign. Inconsistency has cost them, leading to random wins, draws and defeats in each and every game they play. Their resulting place could alter Walter Mazzarri’s position at the club, after he took charge last summer. These sides last met in November, where two incredible Watford goals put them ahead in the opening fifteen minutes, eventually finishing as a deserved 2-1 win over The Foxes.

The two who wonder will they still be at the same club next season.
Both teams have 40 points from 34 games and the result from this game may help to decide their futures, although Watford have arranged for head coach Walter Mazzarri to undergo intensive English lessons during the summer break and have involved him in preparing their pre-season tour suggesting he is secure.

Watford will hope to keep up their unbeaten run under the rule of referee Roger East when the Wiltshire-based official takes charge of their trip to Leicester on Saturday.

East has twice refereed the Hornets this season. Firstly their 1-1 draw with Southampton on the opening day of the campaign, as well as a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough in mid-October.

He was the fourth official for Watford's defeat to Liverpool on Monday night but, since his last game officiating the Hornets, has been branded "not good enough" by former refereeing chief Keith Hackett, who suggested the 52-year-old should "drop down a level".

East has refereed only intermittently in the top flight this season, with only nine of his 31 appointments in the Premier League.

Cheers OFH, I don´t know what to expect from the team any more. However, a well written thread as per usual!

I´ll go for a 4-4 draw, with an end of season free scoring madness coming into play as WM rips up his suit jacket at our defensive frailties then punches the dugout into pieces in sheer delight at our amazing attacking moves.

    Meh, I´d take 0-1.

How do we play this one - Leicester like teams to attack them but we cannot really just sit back and hope to hold on..

Will we manage to go through a half without some sort of injury?

Walter Mazzarri will have to dip deep into his defensive resources again this weekend after the Head Coach confirmed injury worries at the back for the Hornets.

Already without Younès Kaboul (hamstring) and Craig Cathcart (knee), Mazzarri said he will have to make a late check on the fitness of José Holebas, who missed the game with Liverpool, while Miguel Britos is definitely out of the game at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City.

“Holebas has got a problem [with his foot] and we won't know 100 per cent if he's going to be available until tomorrow,” said Mazzarri.

Looking forward to this one. That Liverpool performance wasn't bad but quite a few players could do better. So the manager has some work to do to boost confidence and get some cohesion between midfield and the guys up front.

    I can see a 2-2.

Good news is that Lawro has us down to lose. But bring it on. C'mon u'orns <cheers>

I find it a bit strange that someone who was supposedly close to consideration on Monday (Cathcart), has already been ruled out of tomorrow's match unless of course the information given to Sky by the club was twisted to make it sound that he is nearer to being fully-fit than he is.

Am waiting patiently for the 12:30 game - the result of which will hopefully dampen Palace's spirits...

Gomes (GK) (c); Mariappa, Prödl, Kabasele; Amrabat, Doucouré, Cleverley, Capoue, Janmaat; Niang, Okaka.

That suggests a 3-5-2 system. Deeney having a rest?

Reports of a rift are, of course, completely unfounded - I hope...

WM did say to the press this morning (in Italian, so it may have lost a little in translation) that next season he wants competition for each starting spot, and intends to utilise rotation more, including with Deeney and A.N.Other. That sort of confirms that Okaka is off to Udinese - will Success take his apparent place as Deeney's rotating partner?

Palace currently on the end of a solid thumping - down 4-0 with three minutes to go. :)
