The Foxes are in devastating form, having picked up an unprecedented 39 out of a possible 42 points, but face a dangerous Leeds team, more than capable of creating an upset. With 14 points already separating them, this has to be the ideal time for Daniel Farke's White army to try and close the gap. Leeds have only beaten Fridays opponents twice in the last eleven meetings, the last time being an impressive 3-1 away win in January 2021, courtesy of goals from Dallas, Bamford and Harrison. They last met (at Elland Road) in April where they played out a one - one draw. Bamford missed a glorious chance from two yards out, which could have changed the complexion of the back end of last season please log in to view this image After a less than convincing performance against QPR, Enzo Maresca is likely to recall Ricardo Pereira and Wout Faes to the heart of his defence, whilst Kelechi Iheanacho may get the nod over Jamie Vardy up front. Winger Kasey McAteer has shaken off his hamstring strain, but may have to settle for a place on the bench. Wilfred Ndidi is ruled out with a muscular injury, allowing Cesare Casadei to retain his place in midfield. Joe Rodon, Crysencio Summerville and Sam Byram have all recovered from knocks, The trio returned to training on Wednesday, and barring any reaction, should make the trip to the East Midlands. Joe Gelhardt broke his hand in training on Wednesday, but probably wouldn't have featured anyway. Junior Firpo may finally make the bench on Friday, but fans will have to wait until after the next International break to see Djed Spence in action. Stuart Dallas is continuing to make gradual progress back to first team action.
2001/02 Leicester 0 Leeds 6 has been my only away game at Leicester in the league cup. I remember Michael Duberry being on the bench warming up in front of the Leeds fans and joining in with the Chelsea scum song, I think Robbie Keane got three of the goals that evening
This will be a great pointer to our progress. Third of way through season and playing best team in league. Doubt we’ll get the number of chances we normally do against some of the minnows So we’d better convert what we get No soft concessions at other end either. Suspect Meslier will be busier than usual. Who knows that might improve his concentration
Fridays are obviously our new Tuesdays. I'd prefer to play them at home first, but am also pleased we get this game out of the way early and not have to depend on beating Leicester to get into the autos or playoffs.
Think this will be a battle of the coaches as former Man City first team assistant to Pep has done a standout job so far and dominating the league. The performances have been up and down and they have conceded goals and been behind a few times only to come good when needed and win all the points. FARKE has had Leeds playing some great football but too often falling behind and although they have sorted it out and come back like Leicester they have been caught out too many times and not been able to drag it back, there’s the difference between the sides. Ghe big positive for Leeds is that Harvey Barnes isn’t there any more and this season Leeds seem to have a stronger team than last season, whereas Leicesters team isn’t as good although still doing great in this league.
Just had a look. They have sold or released 17 players this summer. Not just Barnes but also Maddison, Tielemans, George Hirst (Ipswich Centre Forward), Castagne and a whole raft more. Quite some rebuilding job I have to say. That Dewsbury Double Barrell looked a player in the Premier League - one to watch for sure. Not particularly hopeful about this but you never know
Yes I think 10 of those players walked on free transfers and was behind dressing room upset that got them relegated. Tielemens was wanted by Arsenal for £80m and he refused to go as he wanted to run his contract down and walk on a free. He did that as well as a bunch of others who were all worth good money. It upset the manager and why he ended up leaving the club and the owners knew they had bought wisely and had a player pool worth a bomb, but they wanted to line their own pockets and sod the club (Very Leeds) so the owners refused to throw more money in…..
Well at the moment it looks like they’ve either had good replacements coming through or recruited well for this division.
Well 4 rolls of the dice have gone for a Leicester win, with the fifth roll being a victory for us. So I'm sad to say we are looking at a score line of Leicester 3 Leeds 1
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but we haven't missed Harvey at all - and I loved the kid (went to the same school as my cousins) ... Mavididi, Fatawu and academy lad, Kasey McAteer, have all been excellent on the wings ... Only player who's left that would make us even better would be Maddison ... Good luck for the rest of the season after tonight (and the return) the Prem needs a competitive Leeds Utd ...
I'm confident tonight. no parking the bus free flowing football it's all about taking chances but we have to start well not like the last few away games. Leicester are a decent side but they aren't Man City are they they no better than what we are and everything to play for. Rutter to pizz on Leicester's chips tonight.
Firpo seen at the King Power tonight. Our best left back might finally be ready to commence his season.
