The reserves beat Northampton Town earlier, Jeff Schlupp scored and Franck Moussa scored 2. The reserves included Conrad Logan, Liam Moore, Aleksandar Tunchev, Matt Mills, Franck Moussa, Tom Hopper and Jeff Schlupp. So it doesnt look like Matt Mills is leaving because why would he play for the reserves if he is about to leave, if he was frozen out and leaving why would we bother playing him for the reserves?

Great to see Jeff Schlupp score and hopefully he will be back soon. And look who else was watching the match

Schlupp is one for the future, nice to see him kicking a ball again.

I wonder how Top feels about how his 4M investment is getting on, does he blame Mills, Sven or Nigel

I think the first two. Mills for acting in a petulant manner and Sven for over-paying for him. Not sure how he can blame Nigel given that he didn't sign him and, if he has acted in a way that is detrimental to team spirit and the squad as a whole, Pearson is well within his rights to look to off-load him.

I was thinking when ever a team in the championship spends big it never works.

Sean St. Ledger was on loan at Middlesborough and was about to sign a permanent deal worth 4.5M but it feel through after he didnt get on with Gordan Strachan and he didnt like the area and they didnt think he was worth it

We sign him for around 1M and he looks really good

And now take Matt Mills, Reading paid 1.5M for him and he did really well for them and was the best defender in the league last season, and take Mills here now we paid 4M and he hasnt lived up to his standards. Its because for them prices people expect them to be brilliant all the time and they arent allowed to make mistakes and when they do the fans get on their back and then the pressure of having a massive price tag justs gets to the players.

I think while we are in this league we shouldnt spend more then 2M on 1 single player

    Would have to disagree.

If you look at West Ham, they have spent a lot but no-one mentions it because of where they are in the table. It's not spending money that is the problem, it's how well you spend it. With us, Sven didn't spend it well and that is why we are where we are. If Nigel Pearson was the manager in the summer, I think we'd certainly be higher up than where we are.

But I agree with the 4th paragraph. Mills is the same person that we bought from Reading but he isn't a £4 million player. I still think he's a good defender but the price tag has meant that fans expect more than maybe he is capable of. Another example that it's how you spend the money that counts, rather than spending money itself because (as long as you can afford it), there is nothing wrong with that.

The difference is with West Ham they signed people who was going to fight and that is what you have to do in this league. Im not saying some of our players dont fight but some of them wasnt up to the style of the championship
