Up early this morning (bus day) and there was a big (and continuing) article on BBC Breakfast TV about our academy and growing our own. Very complimentary. BR was talking, as were Stevie G and Frank McParland, about the massive benefits of developing youth from within. God and Macca also featured. What the **** is going on? This is a worrying development - being complimented by the Beeb It's a conspiracy
Reverse psychology, BBC hoping their "faint" praise will back fire on our current form and see us plummet down the table! I want my licence fee back!
The snail wasn't there this morning. Neither was the hedgehog. In fact, there was no visible wildlife. #they'velearnt
Not even a lurking in the bushes? On topic- I never watch breakfast telly so I don't know, but maybe this was made by a different section of the beeb and not the Salford bunch?
blatantly an attempt to build us up as they have to really on where we currently are at, in the hope we will fall and they can rip into us. didn't the media a couple of weeks ago rip into Chelsea saying what the **** was going on there, they then went top of the league just after that!
good news for sure imagine the feeling of them around the place if you are a youngster. the title threw me though, thought it was something to do with banks or some shiite, borrowing etc.
Brendan Rodgers has called upon Liverpool legends, Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Rob Jones to come back to Liverpool and help out with the Academy. The trio have been recruited up on a part-time basis to work with the clubsâ under-21s and under-18s squads at the Kirkby Academy. Brendan Rodgers is seeking to tap into the skills, knowledge and experience of the former Liverpool stars and believes the young players at Kirkby will greatly benefit from this move. âItâs great to have Robbie, Steve and Rob on board,â Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo. âI said at the end of last season that I wanted to get more former players involved and over the off-season I spoke to a number of them about a possible role here. âFor me itâs so important to have players like that around. âThese are players who the young guys look up to. âThe three of them have come in recently and I know they have thoroughly enjoyed having that involvement of working with the kids. âWeâre starting with the older Academy players as they are ones they can really affect at this moment.â There is nothing better for the young players to be able to interact and be coached by legends such as these. As an academy player you have been looking up to these guys and seeing them player, and they would make sure they take in everything they are taught. The young strikers would benefit the most for me in having Robbie showing them the ropes. There are very few better natural goalscorers than Fowler and his knowledge will greatly benefit the future Liverpool number nines. Bringing in these three players is a good move in my opinion by Brendan Rodgers. He is still trying to keep the âLiverpool wayâ of doing things going by giving the ex players are chance to return at the club. Hopefully this will be beneficial and the trio stay on a permanent basis. Who knows, maybe in a couple of seasons time we could have one of the Liverpool legends being manager of Liverpool.
