With the play off final today, and one more club in the market for premier league players, have we left it to late to beat them to New
players especially as they are richer and based in London?

You do realise they will want to go on holiday as well?

No, the PL clubs haven't announced their retained lists yet, so how can we have missed out on anybody? Most of Watford's new arrivals will come from Granada/Udinese and Palace will have the same chances of us of getting players; there's no rush, it's still May for goodness sake! Why are you in such a rush for us to sign players? Everybody is on holiday until the middle of June, then SB will sit down and start the process.

George Boyd coming in aside, I don't expect any incomings until at least the Portugal training camp commences in June.

It's because the papers are trying to sell copies by talking transfers constantly, when nothing is happening at all transfer-wise. Some people believe more that is mentioned in the papers than others, who have seen it all before.

There won't be much announced until late July and then it will only be one or two players. Another arrival at about mid-August just as the season starts and we'll all be up in arms about how we've ****ed up the transfer window and are going down with less than 20 points as we lose our first game or two. Forgetting of course that there are still two weeks of the transfer window left when we sign about 10 players, win our 3rd and 4th game of the season and we're all talking about potential Europa League Qualification.

Isn't that how it normally works? :)

I am sure city have a list of plenty of targets, i also know because Bruce will be looking at some very good players that many will turn us down. We are not going to go over the top this time and rightly so but we are going to pay the going rate in wages. That to me says if other premier league clubs compete with us then because of were we are in the country and the fact we have just come up then we are going to be near the back of the queue when trying to attract potential players. However lets hope SB as a few tricks up his sleeve because i think we will need them

But last time we went up through the playoffs and were a month behind the others and therefore only got the expensive dregs! That's how it was reported by some.

That was my thoughts augustatiger - everyone kept telling me a big benefit of automatic promotion was the extra time to look for players. I imagine Palace had been making enquiries before the final so any advantage is now gone?

Would not be at all surprised to see Le Fonde now go to Palace.

There's really no rush on this at all. Remember our barnstorming start to the Prem spearheaded by a bustling striker who bullied defenders before going on to bully women? Well he was signed the day before the season started.

Given that the transfer window opens on 1st July, so we can't officially sign anyone other than frees, how does anyone know that we haven't taken advantage of the extra few weeks.

Unless you all have sources saying we've done nothing.

Ah yes the QPR method x, as it will come to be known in future. Granted it would be lovely to have a press conference at the KC today with Papa and Bruce announcing all our summer transfer signings today - but we can't and neither can any other club, and this annoys me as I look forward to transfer window almost as much as getting promoted or staying in the PL (yes I am a sad moron with no life or friends - and the no friends is actually the truth), but if we look at it another way the transfer window opening day is like Christmas and we can see what gifts Papa has brought for us (we all have our lists, and as normal with any present list we never get everything we want)

each to their own! i find the endless speculation utterly dull and i'd rather keep the bulk of the current team together, though we do need players in some positions (keeper, strikers) and i hope we sign elmo.
