We need a left back that is able to go forward with a bit of pace. Last night quite a few times ben haim was in a lot of space but didn't have the skill/confidence to run at players and cause problems. If SC is so set on this formation then it is important that we have good wing backs. I don't know why we signed that riise he looks like a similar player to Lawrence, slow and frustrating. I have always stuck up for cotterill but I think it's about time he went. Now he has a squad to play with it is more obvious that he is tactically clueless. Playing Benjani basically upfront on his own at home to Peterborough is pathetic and what's the point in making subs with a minute to go. 2 wins in 18 says it all really. Last season he had the excuse of a small squad, what's his excuse this season? We were unlucky to lose last night but we shouldn't have been in that position , we should be beating teams like Peterbrough at home. On Saturday we won yeah but we didn't look convincing, didn't look like scoring the whole game. I had high hopes for this season thought we were being harshly written off, but if things don't change we will be in a relegation battle come the end of the season!
Is Herman injured? Cant Pearce play left back? I dont get the anti-Cotterill brigade but then I'm the type who never gets on the managers back. I backed Perrin, Adams, Hart and Grant whole-heartedly and will continue to do so with Cotterill until he and the club part. I suppose you could call it blind faith.
Give the guy a chance, he only signed Monday! I think we need a left midfielder more than a left back. The only reason Ben Haim has to come forward is so we actually have some sort of attack down the left-side. If we actually had a proper left midfielder Ben Haim would be able to stay back a bit more. Varney is clearly a striker & should be played upfront
