Left Back Situation: Scenario 1

So Fox has gone, he wasn't as great as I expected, but at 23 I'm sure he has a great future ahead of him.

Which leaves us back at square one

Signs are we'll not get anybody in. Mowbray has already stated Fox was sold to strengthen other parts of the team, meaning there is not alot of money left to juggle with. He also indicated that if he brings in a leftback it will be someone who can wear the Hoops for the next 4 years, which would rule out a loan deal or a swoop for an older player on a free transfer.

So if we stick with what we have:

Naylor - The obvious first choice for the manager being the only natural left back, but not us the fans. The whole reason we spent £1.5m on Fox was because Naylor was ****e. His movement makes Barry Robson look human, his distribution is woeful both in short & long game. Anybody who thinks a long pount to Scott McDonald is a good idea obviously has issues. Even the phrase "His right leg is just for standing on" doesn't apply here as he slips, fumbles & stumbles through 90 minutes.

O'Dea - I think Mowbray likes him. He's been given the armband & has shown McManus in the last few weeks what being a leader is all about. Still learning his game but I think he has a great future given a chance at a run of games to cut out the few weaknesses he has. Should Mowbray get his centreback target to play along Hoovield I expect O'Dea to be shifted out here when Naylor inevitably fails.

Caddis - Probably the fans choice & currently has the jersey due to injuries across the squad. Perhaps time for him to be given a run to show what he can do & why he is so highly regarded as a future star. Great at going forward, good speed but makes me look like Peter Crouch he's that fecking small. A tactic that will be used after not too long by opposing teams will be the long diagnal ball.

Wilson - If you want somebody to play 60 minutes of half-hearted football he's your man Never seen a guy sweat so much from taking a throw in Decent player & was quietly excited when we signed him, bad injuries have cost him dear. Versatile & able to play either flank or anywhere in midfield but unless he can ever regain full fitness I can see the guy retiring in a few years & wondering how the feck he never got a cap for Scotland.

Misun - Never seen the guy play. All I know is he looks like Paul Calf & is a leftback who has been injured a good while. Many who've seen him have been impressed. Not sure if its too soon for the lad, though alarmingly he's 19 already, apparently. Nevermind lack of first team football, this guy hasn't played in ages with his injury.

 

Rumoured we are in talks with Wallace of Hearts.

He is better than Fox - so if we can get him for less than we have sold fox for then good bit of business

If we play the lad Rogne we could play a whole new back 4 half way through a season!

 

Wallace wont be cheaper than Fox
