Alright Gooners, Toon fan in peace. And do mean in peace, born and bred Geordie but but living in North London for 20 odd years now so most of my mates are Gooners and seen them play many many times. (would say 2nd favourite team, just don't tell my mates) <laugh>

I was fairly certain that after Clichy moved to the money pit Arsene would have a bid for Jose Enrique. He's right age bracket, got a couple of seasons Prem experience, great going forward but can also defend. Definitely one of our best players last season and one of the best LB's in the league last year (even without my Toon-tinted specs on).

I think you've missed out on a real bargain here (having medical at Liverfool today and fee expected to be around £6M) for a player who would fit the Arsenal mould.

Just wondered if you think Gibbs (regularly injured) & Armand Traore are good enough for the level of football you'd expect from Arsenal? Or has Arsene just given up on all things Spanish?

Also what are your thoughts on Arsene's odds on being sacked this season slashed from 33/1 to 9/1? Personally I think getting rid of Wenger would be a great idea, he's built your team into a consistant top 4 side and who would be good enough to replace him?

Anyway all the best for the season (barring Saturday obviously). <ok>

Arsene has just turned racist and no longer wishes to speak with any player from Spain.

    Yeah I agree,

Enrique would have been a good signing.

Liverpool got a bargain for £6 Million.

I do wonder why Wenger has'nt signed a left back. The guy is getting more and more conservative in the transfer market.

  4. It could be a case of dithering and leaving everything to the last minute.

Hopefully the management do not come to regret it and may yet make a more suitable selection.

If we get him then he could kill Gibbs. A classic Wenger saying. <doh>

I was thinking the same thing, If Enrique is that good why aren't we going for him, he can't be worse than what we have.

Wenger is a dick, I have nothing nice to say about Wenger, he has gone down massively in my estimation, I feel sorry for my beloved club right now. Even Liverpool are fancied more highly than us, we are a bunch of chiefs.

Some comments don't seem overly pleased with Wenger at the moment. Do you think he'll survive the season? As I stated earlier his odds for being sacked have been slashed.

Other clubs are always fancied more highly than us. And we always prove people wrong and maintain our top 4 status. It's getting boring.

We WILL maintain top 4 again and this transfer window will be important as to wether we are able to do better than top 4 and actualy have a pop at some silverware.

It really makes me laugh. If it wasn't for Wenger half of the Arsenal fans on not606 wouldn't be supporting Arsenal at all

  10. I wouldn't give much credence to the odds on Arsene going. Just pure speculation which is what the betting industry is about. Let's see who he brings in and how he puts together the team. A season isn't lost in the first month.

On the brightside (for you) Gervinho wanted to come to you rather than us. When we were after him I had a look at him (you tube & some Lique 1 games) and he is quality, great signing for you.
