over the last 3 home games I've seen 3 keen young left backs get skinned by teams who seem to have 3 world class right wingers I ve then seen Washington deployed left mid to help out In his defence it did seem Robinson had 2 players on him one wide right one mid right from minute one and the rest of centre mid seems not to help Who should we play left back next game? PErch or give one of them a run of games? If so who? When is Bidwell back?
Robinson. If he hasn't had a new injury setback he should be in better shape by Saturday. He looks a good player.
Robinson looked good I thought. If we persist with Washington and Chery as wingers despite a plethora of actual wingers in the squad, Robinson is the only player who might take on a full-back. Part of the problem I feel is the apparent need to shoehorn Chery into the team at all costs.
I think the best thing for Robinson is to bring him on as a sub. It's not often done but, if we can afford the substitution, let Hamalainan start and then give the second half to Robinson until he's fit.
Robinson injury free has the making of our first choice, was understandably rusty against Brentford but I like him. Starting to think the insistence on playing Chery is damaging the team.
That's a big factor at the moment. He's actually one of our biggest underperformers at the moment but seems to be the first on the team sheet for every game. The funny thing is he's been given the freedom that Taarabt was given back in the day. Yet this is happening to a player who's not as good as Taarabt and is not in a team as good as Taarabt's team of the time. At least those around Taarabt actually had a worthwhile game plan given to them by Warnock. Now you've just got a little bloke running around aimlessly in a team of lost individuals trying to figure out what their manager has put in place whilst keeping up with the team they face.
