Leeds are reported to be leading the chase for Joel Ward, now there's a ****ing shock, obviously the improved offer of £20 a week has not worked, way to go Cleggy!! Think its time to stop flogging this particular dead horse and move on!!

Also reported that we are after Sam Baldock once again, is this 5ft 7 inch striker finally the target man we have been crying out for to partner Chopra, LMFAO!!

    Thoughts guys?

    Supers

Thats the problem, i don't think he is what we need, don't doubt the guys ability and would be happy for us to sign him but as long as we bring in someone with an aerial threat to compliment him, which i don't think will happen!!

yep, i thought that was what your issue was. i've seen you linked with richard keogh from coventry. good full back - lambert chased him when we were in league one, but it made me think of another keogh, andy, who i believe would be a good striker for you guys <ok>

Richard Keogh would be a good signing, so would Joe Murphy from Coventry. We really need a big man upfront to unsettle defenders, a younger version of Darius Henderson is the type i'm thinking of. What they would lack in goals, they would produced chances for chops.

Emile Heskey doesn't have a club next season.........

Just the sort of player Jewell has previously looked to sign

I have to say someone in the Emile Heskey mould would be great, though perhaps not Heskey himself.

Isn't Richard Keogh a CB? (please let him be a CB)

Leeds are doing what we did to them last summer, anyone remember we got the players they were going for mind you looks like we might be more dissapointed than them. Shame about Ward if Leeds do get him mainly because I think his versatility could've been important for us next season.

How old is heskey now, 34 or something? thinking about it, if the wages were right (perhaps a pay as you play deal) we could do a hell of a lot worse!

There isn't many players that can win headers and hold the ball up as good as him in the championship!

i would think his next move would be the championship guru, so you never know. as hold up players go, he's not a bad one - its just he finds it literally impossible to score goals and as always, rightly or wrongly, strikers are judged on goals scored. i bet his wages are astronomical though!

Oh definately it would have to fit into our wage structure, but if his hold up play gets chops another 5 goals in the season & he himself chips in with 7 or 8, to me that would be deemed a successful signing. I know it would be a short term fix, but i'm pretty sure he could do a good job in the championship. To me last season a big fault of ours was nobody was holding the ball upfront, it was coming back far to quickly, if you have heskey holding the ball up it could also help defensively.

JWM, I'm not saying it would be my first choice signing, BUT we are looking for somebody to primarily hold the ball up, knock it down for somebody in the area, bring the on rushing midfielers into the game, These are all Heskey's strong points. Short term fix, we could do a lot worse!

We've got Scotland who does that really well! Why spend a fortunate on some over the hill has been! It goes against everything we have been saying all season!

That is very true JWM, If you had a toss up between scotland and heskey who would you go for? Heskey i believe holds the ball up better, brings others into the game more and has a more aerial threat in the area, Big Jase does score more goals granted, but i don't believe he holds the ball up aswell and isn't a great threat with the ball in the air.

As for this age thing, its just a number and there needs to be a balance of young and old. If the player that comes in can improve something within the team then as far as i'm concerned they get a chance from me.

Do i think it would ever happen, i very much doubt it.

If you boys signed Heskey, it would be the final nail in your coffin.
