A game where at beginning we could say "it's a game we should win" and "Should'a won, and did win" after. Bit patchy during first half, looked like we were trying to find our feet again, as we were after the international break, but we didn't hit the ground running from the off like in our previous earlier games. As most were saying, we were missing Pablo during his injured period, but it didn't take long for Pablo to make his mark on game by causing the Ipswich defenders many Pablo problems. Was on 22nd minute Pablo put in a well placed cross (missed them from right side) to find Roofe who nodded it in goal with ease. As I wrote in forum after Roofe scored.............Pablo's back. Pablo continued to cause problems for Ipswich during the game, even poppin in a couple of nutmegs. We upped our game more in second half as we began to control the game and attack their goal more. 66th minute, down left hand side, up popped Pablo, a nice straight pass to Phillips who let it run to Cooper who popped in what looked like a well placed shot to make it 2-0........2 nil to Leeds but 2 assists to Pablo on his return. Some say Saiz was poor. Saiz is a marked man, other teams are recognising he's one of our main danger men, if not the danger man, that in itself is a huge compliment. While they're after stopping Saiz, the likes of Alioski, Klich and Pablo have more room to do what they do best. I've read a couple of times where people are saying Phillips was immense, for want of a better word. I don't see it, and I'm watching same game and trying to see what they're seeing, but can't. Respectfully Ristac, I can't see any big money offers coming in for Phillips in January, and unless he turns into a super human very soon, can't see him playing for England when there are many much better CM's than Phillips in Championship and Premiership. Today we controlled / dominated the midfield, but with more impact in second half. During our previous games (2 wins in 9) we were having the midfield dominated by other teams, we lost the midfield nearly every game. He doesn't seem to create much, but his passing stats must look great from all his backward and sideward passes, he's not creative in midfield, when he's there, and doesn't start attacks.......I'll leave it there. Enjoy the links lads. Back to normal lads, short highlights. Can't find the post match Bielsa interview for luv nor money. If it pops up I'll slot it in. Coopers post match comments. Whelan interviews Forshaw post match. Wainmanjoe's post game comments. It's that kid again, with highlights too. Bonus WBA 4-1 loss to Derby.
We all see things different LL I can’t agree with your assessment of Saiz and I really fail to understand why you don’t see what the rest of us are watching in regards to Phillips but I’m sure neither of us will lose sleep over it
Saiz is not at his best but 100% agree, he’s picked out as danger man... generally he’s better when Pablo plays as there are two guys to watch... but last night wasn’t one of those occasions. Even off form the few killer passes we’ve seen in recent games prior to last night have been from Saiz. Can’t agree with that, we dominated possession and field position in the vast majority of them... we lacked quality with the final ball but can’t see how our midfield was dominated.
