please log in to view this image Morning Everyone, It was going so well until injury time.... Listening to the commentary on the radio, they were said Leeds were doing the pushing in the second half, and if anyone was going to score, it would be us (famous last words) Then Warnock got his marching orders!!! Was it deserved? Should the ref have been a bit more lenient as we were in injury time. Then Reading score in the last minute.... Lets face it, it was always going to be Le Fondre I know Leeds have rode their luck a little this season, and they say things even themselves out over the season, but I feel bloody annoyed... Did we deserve to lose? Should Kenny have done better We did not have Peltier or Byram, and we lost by a last minute goal in injury time, during a midweek game against a team whom we expect to grab one of the automatic promotion slots. Agree or not?
Reading won't be far away this season and will have a good chance of bouncing straight back up, along with QPR. Wigan may struggle as they have too many games to contend with and a coont called Coyle as manager. Our defending this season is a revelation compared to what we've had to endure for the last 8 seasons. Loving the way we defend, especially with the players we have. If only we could score regular goals, we would be better placed to look like we could do some damage this season. We were a tad unlucky last night, but already we falling further away from the action at the top of the table
Morning. Disappointed, a game we should have won. However, once again more than matched a top team in this division, players will feel the pain and make sure it doesn't happen again. We need fear nobody this season, still need three quality additions to the squad and we'll be in the mix. A drop in concentration at the death hurt us last night, McD will sort it out. MOT!!
Billy and Doc, we need a serious front man. Give us a Le Fondre or a Sharp, and I'd be confident of a play off slot for sure. It would be nice for a mide man, but we'll have to wait and see. We are certainly a lot harder to beat this season, and our defence is so much tighter. Can't wait for Byram to come back! Wonder whether he'll start at right back or right midfield?
No doubt we need a creative spark, ultimately it's about balance. Sides that concede few rarely score many. Were we to sign the winger(s) we all want, they'll likely defend less and we'll likely leak more. What it does obviously is give options, to set the team up differently when required and to change things mid game. Whichever, easier to add spark to a solid side than plug the holes in a Leaky one and no doubt in my mind that starting with solid foundations is the way, so we're definitely making progress. It doesn't look like playing two grafters up front who don't score is enough in this formation and replacing hunt with a guy who can feed on scraps, is every bit as important as a pacy winger in my view. Both would be nice and jan will be too late I fear for top 6 this season. At the moment we look like a solid upper mid table side, and as has been said, no one us rolling us over. Promising but a work in progress.
Unlucky result, 4 mins injury time, but goal in the 96th. We lost to QPR but they could only draw at home to Brighton who we beat. We've played teams who should be in with a shout for auto promotion or at least a play off spot and done well against them, so IMO we've done very well considering we need a few players(wingers) in. So although very disappointed with the result, I think we've shown we won't be push overs. Looking forward to another tough match against Burnley. LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS
We all expect to get 3-points against Burney, but if they turn us over at home, and it's possible on current form, we will struggle to get into the top 10. Dyche is doing a great job at Turf Moor so this tie is a bit worrying especially after last night.
Reading the bits and bobs, looks like this is very much what our season will consist of. Close games, winning or losing by the odd goal. Result will be a mid table finish which most of us were anticipating anyway before season started. Little real quality was added to last years team except a terrific manager. You cant expect McD to turn a relegation treatened team from last season into a promotion winning side on peanuts in one season. At least this year we dont go into every game expecting a hammering which is a huge improvement
Do us a favour lads you are 11th in the league and you havnt beaten one team thats above you luckily for you lot you are somehow scrapping wins against poor sides who will be right down there with you at the end And its gonna get worse you have us soon
Tut, tut, tut last week could not find a Wallie to have some banter with!!! they win one, we loose one what happens, they come along in two's just like them buses
Morning all, Harsh sending off, Leeds in control second half, Reading nothing special - oh and if they love Hunt so much they can have the useless **** back, and we'll throw in the equally useless Matt Smith in for free. I've never seen a professional footballer so bad with the ball at his feet as Smith, and for someone as tall as him he's beaten in the air far too often. As for Varney, he was outstanding, winning every header and showing a good turn of pace
LiE i listened to the match, and for me i did not hear too much of Murphy's name? did he ply well or go missing??
Doom, gloom, dispair and dispondency!!! Bring back Lord Ken of Bates & allow him to re-appoint Squire Colin of Wan&er who can lead us back along the righteous path of hoofballness. Boo hoo!!! Hopefully for Saturday, we'll go to 433 with Ross up top through the centre, Poleon on one side, Varney on the other. This would give us a midfield of Austin in the centre, Murphy on one side AND DIOUF on the other. We would then have a back 4 of Drury on the left, usual CBs, and Byram hopefully back on the right. Last night was a shame, but we rode our luck somewhat. Either way, 1-0 in the final 10 seconds of a game against a side expected to be almost nailed on for top 6 isn't too bad a result. But we will need to ensure we put Burnley back in their place on Saturday.
Sorry guys and Boggers I hate to try and bring you down mate, but I've just looked at Saturdays fixtures and predict the table will look like this: QPR 20 Leciester 17 Blackpool 17 Forest 17 Burnley 17 Reading 13 Derby 12 With Leeds falling further behind, unless we pick up all 3 points, which should ease us into 6th equal unless Reading win instead of the draw I have them down for.
Doha he didn't go missing as such, he just didn't do much with the ball when he had it, and was caught in possession a few times. Boggers - we didn't ride our luck at all, in fact Kenny hardly had anything to do all game, the defence was outstanding, as were McCormack, Austin and Varney
LIE, I hear just before the sending off / goal, we almost scored, but smith missed a sitter. Is that accurate?
Elland I think it was Jason Pearce, great free kick from McCormack, on a plate for Pearce - don't know how he missed it
There were 3 top drawer quotes 1) The quote above. 2) I listend in on Reading radio and the commentator said "that might be a sending off but theres no time left for it to have any bearing on this game" 3) I can smell a goal coming
LiE, according to the commentator, Reading's forward missed a load of headers before being taken off. At the same time, we didn't have too many chances. So I think we probably did ride our luck a bit, espcially as Eddie Gray couldn't understand how they didn't manage at least 2 before half time.
