Another game where we dominated, but don't seem to get an abundance of goals. We went 1-0 up as Roberts was tripped in the Bolton penalty area. Before Bamford slotted home from the spot, there was a bit of disagreement tween Roberts and Bamford over who was going to take the penalty. Bamford seemed to nominate himself, and Roberts thought he should take it as he was the one fouled, Roberts imo had every right to want to take penalty, unless Bamford has all of a sudden been given penalty duties over Pablo, which he hadn't. Bamford seemed to be a bit greedy, especially with those acute angle shots from both sides of goal, a cross, on both occasions may well have been better suited. Bolton scored against the run of play, although they did look threatening on the break occasionally. Bolton scored their goal through a defensive error on our part. Phillips had his back to the strikers and tried to clear a ball with the back of his foot, he then gave the eventual scorer full sight of goal. I'm sure there'll be those who'll defend him, and make excuses for him. There's no excuses for defensive errors. We continued to dominate Bolton throughout the second half, but once again it looked like the goal/s weren't coming. We really need to start shooting from edge of box, other teams are doing it, and winning, we're still trying to walk the ball into net. Cross or shot, Alioskis goal came with a bit of luck thanks to keeper error. By rights, the keeper should've tipped that ball over bar. I've said it many times, keeper errors concede goals, we scored our second against Swansea cos of their keeper being caught out of position. While we'll take'em, we haven't won the last 2 games convincingly. We really need to step it up against QPR and score multiple goals convincingly, the WBA, Bristol C and Sheff U games are coming up, we need to be ready, willing and able with the bit tween our teeth, or we'll get hammered. Agreed, LoL. Here we go again. Bamford is greedy & I'm guessing that all of his future goals are going to be 'accidents', as per LL's usual insight. Oh, and btw LL, it's Roofe that's the nominated penalty taker, not Pablo. Bielsa said that & there was no-one else. He said the guy grabbing the ball was the most confident & most likely to score. He was fine with that, but I guess he forgot to consult with LL first. Phillips is ****! Well, a least he's consistent. Consistently idiotic!
